Wink Honda clone midbike engine swap

So lately i've been noticing a few people who have been cramming those Honda 50 4-stroke engines into China midbikes. Also those Lifan engines are going around in sizes from 50cc to 250cc v-twin and people are getting those into x2's or x7/380/infernos and the like. Plus those Lifan's got manual or auto cluchs to choose from. I think this is a particularly interesting idea. If the bike proved reliable, fast, asthetically pleasing, with good handling-I think it's a great idea. But for starters something fun might cost:
x7 - $350-$400
70cc Lifan - $400-500

Plus lots of work, and other parts.

I hope PBP one day will have a thread or section for engine swaps consistng of how to's and the like.

Some questions:

Am I retarded for hoping this could work well?

What else am I forgetting that would impare me from making an easy swap?

Besides welding and general mechanical knowledge what do I need to know?

Is there a cheaper way to get hold of a midbike or 4-stroke engine?

Whats the biggest size engine you can cram into a midbike? (I'm not messing with liquid cooled)

Would a vertical engine fit better? (I don't have a mid -what the heck do I know)

Anyone who can answer all these questions is a know it all -and I love you.

On scooterparts4less.com they sell a 70cc 4 stroke 4 speed motor for about $300.00 under performance parts, it's a chinese "jingpin" model though.
