Question How fast can a x-7 go with all sorts of mods?? please look and respond!

OK, I have an X-7 and I just want to know what are the best mods for gaining speed AND power?? I know some minor mods like a tuned pipe and a Walbro Racing Carburetor, but which model carburetor should i get and do I need to make mods to the engine or anything before i can put it on?? Thanks for the help guys

AND also if you can tell me the performance differences in the Walrbo wa-15-2 and the Walbro wt-603?? Also, how hard is it to put in the Walbro wt-603 or does it just go right in without any minor mods to the engine or carb. Thanks alot guys!

I put a 603 on with the juicebox and carb adaptor from davesmotors, and it is great. they have package deals there, and I was very happy with their service. I also put in timing advance key, air filter, fuel filter, different exhaust(I got a can type one due to fitting issues, but a tuned pipe would be better) after that I put on direct hits hp ignition. You can also change sprocket, get race spring for clutch. If that isn't fast enough, you can lighten clutch by drilling holes on each side, lighten flywheel if you have mechanical know how, and port head. Or order port head kit from pbu or others that make them. I hope this gets you started in right direction.

Unhappy

That X7 will go as fast as you want. As long as you are willing to do the proper research for parts and willing to pay the hefty dollar amount that follows. I have found that with $300 you can make it go around 45-55mph and with about $800+ you can go over 60mph easy. But that is if you buy the right parts. You can easily spend $1000 on parts that will only get you to 45mph. That is where the research comes in to play.

Ride hard but be safe. And most of all have fun.

if i was going to be spending a 1000 dolars one a bike ii would definatly just get a 5.5 4stroke honda go-kart race ready motor and doo some fabrication work to make it fit. I don't think anything would come near it if you build it right.

I installed a schwinn speedo on my buddies x7 and his top spd was 36.5. The bike has the PBU headstrong kit/ PBU adjustable filter/hp carb/PBU dual boost bottle and exhaust. BTW: the kit was installed at the PBU facility. I was a bit disappointed with the entire PBU upgrade. The kit didn't perform as we really expected it to do. I was expecting the top speed to be in the low 40s. Probably a change in gear ratio might make a difference. It is frustrating when U put all the cash into the bke and it won't reach the speed as one would expect. In my buddies case he spent a little over $700 for the mods ONLY.

You are definately on the right track ask the questions and do the research. This forum has saved me hundreds on wasted upgrades. My X2 w/CVT is now hitting 35.2. The upgrades are a Used pacsales pipe($60) hand me down rocket key and boost bottle/ generic 15mm carb ($40) 54 tooth rear sproket ($23) more for low end speed and the total cost was $123. I can probably hit close to 40 mph if I were to go back to the stock 44 tooth sprokt.

Bottom line is don't expect to much from certain upgrades that are out there. Just my 2 pennies.

How about 47MPH on radar with $200 worth of parts, that is what my tech Troy's X1 CVT is doing with some porting and tuning, it is running a V stack and filter along with a Pro-line pipe and different variator weights as only non stock parts, it is just lots of porting and tuning, not one of those "ported" cylinders that is just opened up a bit and costs a fortune but is not ported for your setup because they just sell it to you without any consideration of what else you are running. Those "ported" cylinders just have the ports slightly widened for more air flow, you are better off buying a dremel and doing it yourself, real shops change transfer timing and many other factors, talk to Kirk at Pro-line (PBP advertiser) who can do this type of work for you. This speed is also achieved with a stock carb so save your money before you buy another carb when the stock one is so good. Oh yeah did I mention that is with stock gearing and a motor that pulls hard out of hairpin corners not some peaky monster that needs 8 blocks to hit top speed. I suggest that you talk to a shop that does real engine work in your area or Kirk rather than waste your money on bling bling parts that don't always work well together, it is about creating the right package and not just throwing a bunch of individual parts on it.

Wink

Your buddy definately was on the right track when he bought the Headstrong kit but came to a hault when he didn't fork up the extra cash to change his gear ratio's. Probrably the single most important mod on any bike because it allows you to decide wether or not your bike will perform better on the road course or on the straight away's. If you do not change them, basically your beefing up a bike that only went 30-35mph (and it took it some time to get there) and turning it into a bike that still goes 30-35mph but get there a hell of alot quicker. I hope you get what I am saying. Gear ratio's determine the Torque and Speed capabilities any machine, not just our bikes. Oh and hell yeah to the guy that mentioned polishing your ports and tuning them. That is another great mod that could be added to the bundle.

Ride hard. Ride safe. And have fun.
