hp carb probs

Promblem #1 my carb seems to stick just before it closes and gets to the idle screw, even when screwed in all the way, it doesn't happen all the time but i think that flat circle thing hits the walls, just a guess cause my carb is clean. i have an alki walbro carb, yeah i know to flush the engine and not let it sit. anybody get stickin probs? do i have to just buy a new hp carb

Problem #2 my throttle cable comes off the swivel easily, u know when u close throttle and can still turn the handle forward more, what can i do to stop this? i already lost a spring.

Your problem # 1 is indicative of running an alky carb. Despite your best efforts to clean and flush the engine, alcohol is highly corrosive and has no lubricating qualities. It is not uncommon for folks who run alcohol to have 2-3 spare carbs .

Problem 2 can be solved by shortening your throttle cable or routing in such a way as to apply greater tension . A quick fix could also be to apply a bump or a stop in a manner that does not allow your throttle to "over close" .

thanks for the info hotscoots, i was unaware of alki carb burnin up carbs that quick, i'll buy another or see if a rebuild is possible, i love the fact the engine runs cooler, i can touch the exhaust after a long ride and it won't burn me.

hey 7star that linkage looks like it will solve the problem, but im gonna check around the house if i could some how make a stopper but nothings coming to mind rite now. o yeah if you find a site that sells them individually pm me dude.
