I have been talking with people and I have decided to go ahead and try to organize some events for us MIdbike riders. There are a lot of pocket bike events starting to happen which is great! What I am trying to do now is to get some gatherings for us midbike riders so we can get to know each other and also get organized so we can show just how serious we are about these midbikes and try to get some credibility so that more companies will start to produce and develop more products for midbikes. This will not necissarily be races, but meets at tracks around Northern and Southern California so that people can get aquainted with each other and ride in a safe controlled environment. Also, this would be a great way to get more midbikes out to the track to consider racing. It will be a fun relaxed environment where people can come out and try riding on a track for their first time without being pressured and also ride with other midbike riders.
I would be happy to organize the meets for the SoCal. We need some people to volunteer and set up a few up north. I was thinking, for a start, of planning two events down here. One at Rialto and one at Amago. It wouldn't actually be an event or a race, so all you would have to pay would be the track fee. Everyone can come out and ride, hang out, exchange ideas, bbq. I will talk to companies to see if they would like to help out with the event so we can have a raffle or maybe have informal races and give away prizes. It should be a lot of fun and it will give people a chance to meet from the forum. Also a great chance to take a little road trip, leave town and ride a new track.
If anyone would like to help out lemme know and if any companies would like to donate anything that would be great. Just waitin to hear from you guys up north if you think it's a good idea......any comments?
By the way.....if you're thinking about $ rialto and amago are both $15 to ride all day which is nothing. Plus get together a pot luck bbq and it should be a blast. I want to make this thing big!
I am not saying yes or no about the beer thing...I don't want to be the guy that said you could...but I can tell you that people drink beer at both places. But don't anyone say"Willie said we could!" lol Besides, I'll have a beer with ya as long as you don't get too faded and crash into me! hehe
im down, maybe the meet at amago can be the big meet for everyone to meet (that i started some threads about). i'm also down to help with any setting up at the event (tents, grills, whatever needs to be setup).
This may not be as far north as your looking to go, but in Oxnard/Ventura area by the
ocean is a go kart track called Jim Hall II Racing or something like that. Its straights
are short for a kart track, should be perfect. I raced karts there years ago, and it was a great track. Jim Hall runs his school there for karts. Wonder if anyones ever talked to them about having bikes.
i dont know how far up north your talking about but i live in minnesota and really want to be a part of a big meet and ride and hang out kind a thing i cant even get anybody to ride with it seems like the people i know who bought them dont ever want to ride i have even pmed a few people off the site no one is really serious about hooking up so yes deffinantly let me know and ill try to organize some of these fronters
I was thinking about having the first one at Amago on Oct. 23. Is this good/bad for anyone. I'm going to call the track to make sure it will be okay and I'll be sending letters to companies and see if the want to come out also and try to get some prizes to raffle and maybe for some inofrmal races. Does anyone out there screenprint? Maybe we can make some t-shirts for the first ever Midbike Rally?
23rd sounds good to me. ..actually thats perfect. I dont screen print but i know a guy that makes shirts. its not screen sprinting though, he uses his type of press machine. the print is very durable and it wont fade like a screen print. but anyways, if yur serious about the shirts i can see what i can do about that. i can show u some samples if your like...
darn busy that day, but i'll help organize who brings what kind of food and stuff like that through the forums and tell them to contact you if you want..
EDIT: actually what times were you planning to start? i'm free anytime after 4.

I can help you get shirts made Willie... if you are interested. Depends though how much money you want to throw down or if you want to sell them (recommended... silkscreen shirts aren't cheap). But shirts are always a nice idea.
That weekend won't work for us.... gonna be up in the San Fran Bay Area that weekend for my *GASP* 10 year High School Reunion! My age is showing LOL!
Keep the weekend of November 6th/7th open as well... there's plan for something and I'll let you know when more details come.
How about we do it in November? It may not be too good to rush into it so we can have more time planning so it can be better. Also, it should be cooling of pretty nicely then.
Sorry, don't mean to sound like a pain, but that date doesn't work for Team Lanza either.... gonna be hosting a big party at our casa in Riverside.
The first 3 weeks of November are booked. But please don't feel compelled to work around our schedule alone, you do what you got to do Willie. We will do our best to be a part of it.
