That's funny...so if they were'nt affordable then this probably wouldn't be happening? Only the wealthy few who can afford the thousands of dollars can ride them, in turn only allowing them the chance to ride these machines. It wouldn't give the less economically stable (to put it in decent terms) a chance to discover what a great experience it is to ride pocket bikes and perhaps join a racing league or even maybe move up afterwards to real Moto GP or something.
I don't think selling cheap bikes is where the problem is....

Sounds humerous to me that's all, if it weren't for every Joe Shmoe out there being able to have a pocket bike this wouldn't be happening. Maybe I took that wrong and it needs to be re-worded so I can better understand it. But what do I know, after all I myself own a cheap knockoff.

Personally, I think the best way is to do what rubbersidedown and some others here did is to send e-mails, snail mail, anything possible to these news stations and magazines making them aware of the responsible ways to use these bikes. Even the local news helps.

before the Cags, people who bought pocket bikes were not going to shell out that kind of coin and have them taken away for illegal riding, they also had to be pretty serious about racing or else that would be a rather silly investment. Today my typical consumer that I sell a cag to is a parent of a kid in their teens or some young adults who have the mentality of a teenager and just want to get a kick out of it because of the low entry fee for anything motorized period. I encourage riding on the track and with a few others started our own league with at least one event per month and most of the time 2 events a month, the cost to race is $20-25 which is not out of reach for almost anyone. Essentially as a seller of a racing product I was often asked as to where you can ride these and my answer would be closed parking lots or tracks which was always followed by where and when. The league that we had offered few beginner classes and few race dates, I felt an ethical responsibility to provide people with an outlet to use the bikes in the way that they were intended and hence our club. Today I am happy to say that when parents of young kid ask me about the pocket bikes I can tell them that starting a kid racing on a Cag is much cheaper than motorcross and that there are many levels of racing for them to move onto from these bikes and I can provide them with race dates and venues so that the kid can grow up to be the next Valentino Rossi.

I'm so sick of this crap! People need to wake up and take responsibilty for their own actions and for the actions of their children! People need to quit whinning and crying and begging the government to babysit their kids and tell them what is right and wrong. Be responsible parents and take responsibilty in raising your kids ****it! Spread the word!

I could not argree more with their stance. However, I am confused why they repeatedly fail to mention, how parents can find out about organized racing, the proper gear to wear and the responsible use of these bikes? Eventhough a small group of pocketbike racing enthusiasts have spent countless hours with reporters promoting education on safe and responsible use, our voices are not being heard.

On the other side, we have a large pocketbike community that is as guilty as the media for other reasons;not responding. If we want to be heard, we have to respond and respond in numbers. If you did not send an email to NBC Nightly News, do it now. If you "Really Care" about getting the word out about pocketbike racing, do it now.

I would like to see the entire PBP membership to email NBC Nightly News today! Here is the link to make your voice heard. We have provided a form letter and it will only take a second:

Jay Wandalowski, Robert Basil and Staff

P.S.

The Washington Post reporter who promised to write an article about safe use of pocketbikes and who interviewed several of us, never mentioned our website or any way parents could find out more information on racing. I sure would like the East Coast racers to sent the editor an email about this as well.....stay tunned.
Email sent.
