this is my X-1 project i have started but still in process of working on it...it has an X-18 front faring for the lights...X-18 front forks and tire/brake setup ,......X-15 rear tire with X-7 sprocket and X-12 sprocket ....4 stroke chain ......soon will have an X18 seat cowl with after market lights and an X-1 seat pad........

let me know what you think and if there is anything you might want to see done to improve on it....I may accomidate some of your ideas into it........

Re: my X-1 project....

Looks like you have a nice project going and it looks pretty nice so far. So is that a X-6 frame or did you have a X-2 frame chromed? So what did you have to do to get that X-15 rear rim to fit the swingarm or does it just fit. Howed you do the front sprocket to take the bigger chain?

Re: my X-1 project....

it is an X-1 frame.....the X-15 rear just fit with a few new spacers...the front sprocket came off a pepboys mini harley and believe it or not just fit the 420 4 stroke chain perfectly..........

Re: my X-1 project....

Looks like a X-2 frame to me it has the 2 bolt holes for the CVT mounting bracket. Not that it matters. Hey are you going to put a fatty pipe on it?

Re: my X-1 project....

I would do a fatty pipe, lighten the clutch and get a bigger Walboro carb. Than there is porting the cylinder or a head kit with reed conversion and a lighter piston. match the manifold for a bigger carb. Match the exhaust header to the cylinder and match the gaskets. Clean up the welds in the end of the pipe.

Re: my X-1 project....

Yeah...........Thats it..........one cruiser and one racer............I personally would do the reed conversion and a 19mm 4 stroke carb on a custom manifold like 125cc crazy made with a polished piston and everything else Straydog would do.........Below is pics of an X-1 frame and an X-2 frames engine mounts;-the X-2 CVT trans has a harder time fitting in the X-1.the X-1's tranny fits in the X-2 easier with less mods. The X-2 trans is 1" longer than the X-1 trans........................Peace

Re: my X-1 project....

I was looking at your pic's again and I have to say you did a real clean job of putting the X-18 front fairing on to the X-1 side fairings.

Re: my X-1 project....

took the top part of the front farings and cut the small side pieces off trimmed off the front top section with the lights off the x1 faring and matched up the corners of the two , then marked mounting holes for L shaped brackets (for now) , drilled the holes mounted with flat head screws and loc-nuts , mounted the brace to the bike first , thenslowly bent one side of the faring to mount it to the bracket and did the same to the otherside , bolted and nutted with the original screws and nuts from the windshield..........when i get the bike to where i want it in speed and handling i will go back and fiberglass the faring then repaint............... i have a few more pics of the bike now just waiting to finish the roll of film on the new x1 racer build , which i will post here as well............
