no battery, no pull start. How can i start it?

I have a cat eye. no battery or electronics. The pull cord broke and the screw on it is stripped(cant replace the rope alone). Is there anyway to pop start it? Can i somehow lock the back hub and roll it down a hill? I know its a centrifigual clutch and you cant usually pop start anything with one. Ive seen locking hubs for about 40 bucks but thats not what i want to do. Any ideas?

if there's at least a starter and you got a battery charger you can set it on med or low voltage and try to turn it over. or just run some jumper cables from your car. dont have it running thouhg. thats to many amps for the little bikes. thats my only idea. or what ive done before.

He might need a new battery.
Just a heads-up DO NOT EVER TRY JUMP STARTING YOUR BIKE WITH YOUR CAR. You're almost guaranteed to **** something up.

thats not an option. I have the starter but theres no battery, or any other electronics. No lights or horn, no relays or anything.

12 volts is 12volts. i said to NOT have it running. i read alot of threads last night and all you guys act like little kids when it comes to arguing and who is right about everything. i came across this site thinking it was all about people doing cool things and helping each other out. not bashing one another cause some1 gives an idea to one. but whateve.....

If i had a clutch i wouldnt be asking how to pop start the bike. the cat eye bike that i have has a centrifigal clutch. I just realized thateven with a locking hub it wont work. The clutch drum will spin but nothin will make the shoes stretch out.

Get a pair of jumper cables. Connect negative to the engine some how. Connect the positive to the wire coming from the starter than vroom.

I have done it many times but do NOT have the car running!!!

Re: no battery, no pull start. How can i start it?

Thanks! Thats a pretty helpful video. Yesterday i couldnt stand not riding anymore so we moded the broken pullstart, put 2 of the pull start screws facing outward, used them as studs and not the pullstart just slided on and off. Everytime you pull ,you have to rewind the rope. Thats why it slides on and off. Ill see if i can get some pictures. Its kinda cool. But ghetto.
