Lord thunderin Jesus! thats a big motor..Yikes.

It'll be a bullet if it works..Good luck with that monster.
Hey Dan these are for you buddy.
A pic of the motor plate we needed, and fairings on bike, both sides.
The channel for the chain.
we also hung the brakes on the bottom of the swinger.
Please keep in mind the welds arn't ground down and finiches, oh and we broke the kickstand in a corner, so ignore that..

Jetro... Could you take some pics the next time that you have the fairings off. I have a "pep boys" bike built like that and I just ordered a "x7" (should be here Wednesday) and was wondering which bike to start chopping on. My son use to race karts with the B&S motors.I have a mild 5hp and an alky 5hp thats pretty radical and wanted to see some frame clearance pics if you had some.

That picture does not show the lower fairing on, but we have cut it out around the pull start shroud, and with the two halves together, you can't tell the motor is not supposed to be there. We even used the stock exhaust pipe, just heated it up a bit to get it to move where we wanted it to go..
I have a bunch of tricks, but only one at a time.
I wouldn't want to wear out my welcome.

This guy is full of it! There is no way of hitting 60MPH with the gear ratios he gave. That means his 6.5 horse beast would have to rev to 8400rpm. Bike looks good but how bout you post the correct top speed. Let me know if you want to see the calculations.

Hmmm,
did I say 60 mph??
Noooo, I said about 60 mph.
That could mean 55.5 mph rounded up, could mean 60 mph right on the button.
Could also mean it could have been a guestimate, see ing that I made no claims to radar gun verified speed runs.
Why is is that there's always someone to try to dispute sombody elses work.
Guess you would know the numbers that the engine is turning without the governor not hooked up, (probably not near 8000 rpm), but i didn't count them.,, and that sorta stuff.
Me I was too busy doing more and calculating less.
I'll leave the math to the ones who like to do that sort of thing.
Sorry people I thought I was just putting a motor in a bike, and letting you all in to some of the stuff we do.I guess mabey next time I won't post guestimated speeds, without radar gun verified stuff. Some people are just too picky.
I'll just keep my thoughts to myself, and continue to drop in time to time, sorry to have "pulled the wool over your eyes" and wasted your time.

Jethro

Jethro I love the looks of the bike and what you have did. It is great of you to share with us all. Do not mind the guys post of your speeds(he!! has an X1 with a 350)....I know exactly what you meant.
Doing more than just talking about it......and then taking the time to share.
I know many here have your back.

Hey dude, looking good.
A question? How are you going to attach your sprocket?
The xr sprocket has a huge hole in the middle.
Are you
A. fill the and weld in a piece of metal. or
B.make a piece that bolts to your wheel, and then bolt the sprocket to that.
C. Weld it to existing sprocket, and be done with it.

Hmmmm, what to do, what to do, eh.
The other thing We had a problem with was the fuel line. The gas wouldn't go up from the tank, to the motor, being gravity fed, it wouldn't siphon sometimesNot going to say it won't work, just have an eye..We just moved the fuel line to the bottom of the tank..
So, ya havin fun yet?

later
