hey DXR (and anybody else with a powerful engine swap) have you figured out your chain tensioner problem? I ride BMX and the chain tensioners we use have to be STRONG if they are going to last long. I've seen some X1s and X2s with bike pegs on the rear axles so I'm assuming they are 3/8" in diamiter. Dont get the 14mm, the hole would be too big. Just do a search for BMX chain tensioners. They are pretty burly and should work. Good luck.

Godspeed

the "lollypop" style. Much like what comes on the bikes already. Just more burly. Some good brands are Primo, Poverty, Snafu, Kink, and Demolition. I dont know if I'm allowed to do this but check at Danscomp.com (if thats not ok just edit my post) then go to bike parts then Chain tensioners. I personaly use Primo Venus and they've been through a LOT. But as you can see I still dont have a pocketbike yet so this is all speculation wether it would work or not. I'm also pretty sure anyone with the right skills and tools could make some like these pretty cheaply. Good luck.

be careful. The first chain tensioners I bought were the "spur" kind. Kinda like the Crupi and they were HORRIBLE! The bolts kept bending when I tried to tighten them. And one of them always ended up between the two prongs of the dropouts. But Crupi is a good brand and that might not be a problem.

thanks a lot for the good info... i'm still using my stock one and something that i sorta put together that seems to hold pretty well. LoL... However, i found out that the stock X1 rear sprocket works with the XR50 chain/front sprocket! that's insane.

Dang, i just took the bike out and I find that i have a hard time starting the bike... maybe it's just the way my carb sits and gas can't relaly get to it? well anyway... My stock tensioner was holding up pretty well until i accidently shifted w/out the clutch... did a little wheelie... rolled for a bit and the chain fell off again... the stock tensioner bent towards the motor AGAIN but the one i "put together" seemed to still hold up pretty well... looks like it's back to the drawing boards... anyone on here gotta pimp tensioner that i can buy? =)
