Rocket Key install?

Is it tough to install a rocket key on an X1? What does it involve for the install? Any help greatly appreciated!

Really depends on how good are you with your hands. If you work on cars or gas engine often, it is very simple.

It require you to unmount the engine and taking the engine apart (tranny, clutch, flywheel, stock key). Some say it too much hassel for such a small gain. Some like me, wants as much gain as possiable no matter how small of a gain it is.

Be sure to use some super glue or you may shear it off.

It is a good project for all 49cc owners because you will learn much more than just how to do the rocket key. That information my prove invaluable if something bad happens to your bike in the future.

BTW: I split my R-key in two....... and not on purpose!

Oh, the rocket key can easily fall out of its position when putting the flywheel back on. A dab of super glue will bond it long enough to get the FW back on straight. All woodruft keys are curved on the bottom and any bump could rotate it enough to have a piece sticking out. As soon as the motor fires up, it will be sheared off.....!

Who knows, you might get lucky......without it.
