starting problem

Hey guys I got a starting issue. Its a 49 cc piston port motor on my X7 I just put on a new metal ported intake. Its been ported out to a 15.8 mm. The bike had a ported plastic intake on it before and started just fine. Now the **** thing wont start. I can pull and pull and pull an if I dont spray a little starting fluid into the filter its just not gonna start. I think the air velocity is to low now.. but once I get it running it screams. Any ideas?

Re: starting problem

Richen up your low speed needle 1/4 - 1/2 turn then tune the high speed needle after its starting up good and then set the idle screw.. The low speed needle is the brass slotted screw thats on top of the carb....When you added the ported metal intake you increased the intake volume density aswell as decreased velocity...youre gonna have to add more fuel to compensate. If the screw is too loose to hold the adjustment use a drop or two of tire slime or superglue to hold it in place....Peace
