My X7 does 37 for now (Measured with Sigma 800). But it's not enough.

Mods: Piston window and Walbro WT 267.

I have just ordered ADA Headkit 13:1, rocketkey, ADA Billet airfilter, Pacsales pipe and some other sprockets.

You can't use a rocket key with that head kit unless you want to blow your motor. You should of gotten a aluminum clutch instead so you could change the heavy steel clutches that's in the X-7.

Yeah, a bigger motor is cool. But might as well ride a bigger bike. I have a bunch of extra aluminum clutches. PM me about them.

After they changed server it was several messages missing.

Well. About rocket key together with ADA Headkit. I was a bit confused about StrayDaw's answer, so I sent a mail to ADA. And here is a copy of it.

Yes, you can advance the timing with the head kit.

Subject: A question from Sweden

Hi.

I have a X7 2 stroke and have ordered an ADA Headkit with 13:1 dome. (The parts has not arriwed yet).

Can I also use a "Rocket Key" together with that Headkit?

Some buddys says it will be dangerous. It will blow my engine.

My X7 2-stroke bike:

ADA Headkit 13:1

PacSales Pipe

ADA Billet Airfilter

Walbro WT 267 carb

98 octane, oilratio 3%

Regards

Björn Arebratt

Falun, Sweden

I think that clear it up. I think it's useful information for others.

Today i'm gonna try to blow my engine. lol. The parts are för delivery today.
(I'm surprised about the shippingtime! Only three days from order to DDM in West Valley, Utah, to me in the middle of Sweden! Thanks DDM and DHL).

My ordered stuff is now on my bike.
44,7 MPH now. With the items above, + 20 t in front and stock 56 t in rear.
Unfortunately the stiffer clutch spring didn't fit, therefore the acceleration is the same as before. But now I have ordered an aluminum race clutch with higher stall rpm.

( 5,3 left to 50. Be sure it will come soon. Beware CAG's)

Bobbe good to see you got your parts in and on your bike. I really don't know how to wake up these X-7 motors for more acceleration. If the rocket key and head kit didn't do it I don't know what will. Iv'e tryed the aluminum clutch and it didn't help my X-7 acceleration. And you think it would since the stock clutches weigh 80 grams apeice and the aluminum clutches weigh 90 grams together. Maybe the combo of the aluminum clutch, rocket key and head kit will do the trick. Did you try it with the stock 17 tooth front sprocket? Good luck...

Thanks for your thoughts StrayDawg63

Maybe I have a little better acc now, but we must concidering that I have a bigger frontsprocket now, witch decrease the power.

And no, I have not tested with the stock 17 t sprocket.

Next step will be a reed kit, witch I'm gonna test without any mods in the cyl.
I think it must help against the "backpulses" thru the carb and will increase rpm.

If not, I will modify my kit with a boost port and window in the piston.
(For the moment I'm studying "How To").

Yes thats why I asked if you tryed the stock front sprocket with your new kit. You said you could not get the heavier spring on your clutch. Did you try putting the spring on your clutches with the clutches removed from the flywheel or with the clutches on the flywheel?

Ofcourse I had the shoes dissembled from the flywheel. That is not the problem.
The new spring is to long, about 9mm. Now I had heard that our bikes comes with 2 different clutches. HP springs are manufactured only in the long version. (52 mm) My is only 41mm.
Thats life!

The spring you got is for the aluminum clutches. Was that the DDM spring or the PBU spring? The DDM springs Is for the aluminum clutches. And I beleive the PBU spring is for the steel clutches
