I would agree on the face of it.
We used a STIHL 2 stroke Digital Tach and with the help of one of my employees (who happends to be a HOTSAW tech) we made tremendous strides.
The Manual says 6500 Max RPM
OUT of The Box(OTB) we got 6730 RPM No Load (N/L)
He adjusted the OTB Carb and got 7540 NL
But we could not get the bike to move under load. It would just die.
We Cleaned and increased the gapping on the sparkplug , increased the octane level and went 50:1. Then we reduced the chain tension, cleaned and oiled then sanded the CVT. Lubed the bearings and axle. Removed all rubing from the Calipers(big difference). The brake power suffered because to increase the gap we had to reduce the caliper movement.

In the end we got over 9,200 rpm NL
We had to reduce it to 8,630-8,570 to pull my kid. Just about 8,000-7,850 to pull my fat butt. The power band is crazy high and it scared me when I heard him hit it! I knew he was hauling ARZZZ!

We tried the same thing on his bike(HotSaw friend) but I guess they are not all made the same. He did have a noticeable increase over his OTB.

This does not mean he was doing 50 but he was **** sure doing over 40.
BTW, It did sound like it was going to blow up with NL...LOL
Dont forget to use a LARGE on HIGH fan if you are going to bench test you bike for max RPM. The higher the octane (99-105) the more the exhaust will burn you eyes

Be safe!

You can post what ever you "want" your speed to be,this is a free country. There is no bike that lucky though. I do agree due to the cvt function a light weight person could get going pretty fast, but no where near the speeds your talkin.

Hey I might just be an idiot though...

Hey Pharohx you only have 100lbs to loose, YOU CAN DO IT. Just gotta run 100 miles everyday. And eat nothing but subway sandwiches. Then you can finally beat your son in a race. =)

It still seems kinda high for a stocker. By tuning what exactly did you do? It doesnt sound liek you merly just adjust the gap on the plugs and adjust the fuel mix. Wanna give us your secrets techniques

Fair enough. I will borrow a radar gun from work with a current calibration and see for sure. I could be wrong.

dtp how many sites & forums are you gonna post your email up in public view? I hope you got some good anti-virus& spam protection. I give up on trying to help you.

We should have a contest to see who can sign you up for the most stuff.

Sorry for jacking the thread for a moment but its stuff like this that circulate & pass viruses around and crash web sites and peoples computers and stuff like that.
