so i get my new x7 in today. let it charge while i'm at work, come home, fill her up, tighten her bolts up, yet its a no go on the start.
Manual says to push the gas valve till i see gas in the clear line, 1st off i cannot see any sort of gas valve. So I pump the primer, nothing, pulling the clear hose off of the carb and the gas just starts flowing. yet so now i have a tube full of gas, i put the tube back on the carb, go to prime, and the gas gets pushed AWAY from the carb. This leads me to think that the intake/outake lines are mixed up. check it out
the choke is closed, i can't really understand the first part of your post.
pumping it, pulling the starter, nothing seems to be getting gas into the chamber.
tried it with both the gas cap off and on, to make sure there was no issues there.
i think im having the same problem.. cause somtimes it will start somtimes it wont.. i know its not getting gas somtimes cause i spray carb cleaner into the carb then it starts right up then after it burns the cleaner it just shuts back down even when im holdin onto the throttle..
try priming it an excessive amount of times (like 10. i have an x5 and can start it with the choke open when i prime it this much). the problem could be in the carburetor but the lines could be mixed up too. there will be a screw with a spring around it (you can see it in the picture he attached, it's above the fuel lines to the top right just to the side of the black box the flathead screw) screw that OUT. that will put more gas into the carburetor. Just be sure not to open it all the way. make 1 - 2 turns and then try priming it then try to start it.

good luck. let me know if this helps at all.
Yes.Try the jet.Unscrew it and adjust your idle almost half way in.When it starts rev the motor up and down. When its on for about 30sec,readjust the idle.If still doesnt start, like the man said, check your lines for mix ups, clog. Also, change the lines to aquarium lines. If it still wont start, you have a bad carb.
don't really want to take apart the carb if I don't have to.
really a pain that I cannot ride though.
Do you have any gas in the tank,at least have way.Look in the tank to see if the lines are submerged.Usually there is a line with a filter at the end, make sure thats submerged.Next, keep pumpping the primer until the fuel fills up the return line going back to your tank. This will clear up all the air thats trapped in the in-fuel line.Close the choke, push and hold the starter for about 10-15 seconds while you give it alittle throttle.Keep doing it until the motor turns over. When it does, hold the throttle halfway and open the choke.Let me know if this works,if not, like i said, its mostlikely your carb.I use to sell these bikes but i ran into too many carb problems.
i checked the lines and the clear line has no filter, and the black line has a filter on the end.
Hitting the electric start button does nothing, no signs of life from that, and pulling the starter does nothing.
when priming on a full hose, you can see when i push the primer that the fuel goes away from the carb, not into the carb like it should. i think that is odd/backwards.
hopefully i can get a new carb sent to me by the seller, that would be great.
turns out that the two fuel lines were indeed switched up. this became clear when i pulled them out of the tank, and the black line had the filter. i switched the connections on the carb and voila!!!....i was cruising, after a little carb tuning i can now fully enjoy my bike. on with the mods.
it shouldnt matter if the lines are mixed up.. both of them will suck in gas but make sure your not pulling gas threw the one with out the filter, when you push the little pump on the bottom of the carb u should see gas going to the tank in the clear tube, it shouldnt be going to the carb
thanks for sending out the replies, but after i switched the lines according to the line with the filter, it started right up, i've been riding all weekend!!!
check the brass needle at the buttom end of the carb.. if mine dosnt start thats normally why cus clogged needle. But i just got a fuel filter so think that might help
Guys when u got bikes did u flash out fuel tank before firing up? as shavings/debris of plastic which settles in tank from factory, which if not done shall block carb giving some symtems as mentioned..
If not pulling fuel up:
1-fuel level(check fuel)
b-Check for spark at plug
2-remove airfilter, cover openin with hand pull cord an fuel should come up if all is good.
try taking the bottom of the carb off and then take the main jet out and clean it.usually when they are shipped they sit in the crate for so long that they get muck inside the main jet and no gas can get through.4 out of 5 of my bikes all were pluged that is where the gas and air mixture takes place if gas is not atomizing in the main jet with the air no air is gonna get to the motor.also check your spark sometime even if it shows spark it is not good enought to fire and you might need a new coil..are you sure no gas is gettin inside the carb unsrew the bottom of the carb relief screw to see if any gas is in the bottom of the carb.....
