X1(cvt) engine swap need advice

Hi, been considering a engine swap on my bike for a month or so now, only had the bike for 2 months just got the need for more power

just unsure what type of engine to go for...

thinking either a motor cross engine or a town geared scooter engine, but as i say iam unsure.

look on ebay at lifan motors but take heed that welding WILL be involved.... and also i think the non vertical ones only go up to 110cc and it isnt rotary......

$300-400 you can get a really decent go-kart engine at 250cc that will blown any bike away on top speed, but you better know some one that knows how to weld. Theres a TON of fabrication to make it work.

on one bike we used a 6HP Tecumseh engine. I think they might offer an engine all the way up to 10-12HP. We also used a 5HP Brigg and Stratton motor. The bottom end on the bike could use a bigger rear gear. I also heard people doing the Raptor race engine and Jr. Dragster engine, but thats waaaay out of $300-400 range. You can do a search on google for go kart engine...model number OHH60ES (Tecumseh).

Those engines are way to big and heavy(33-55lbs) for the small hp numbers, a good engine to use is the active 5.5 big it's only 8 lbs and with a good port job from the factory it can put out 8 to 9 hp and the best part is it bolts wright on to a X1 X2 cateye or anyone of these bikes. You can fined it at bossperformance *** tv for 425 stock or 580 for the stage 3 race port and It's Itailan made.

very true Drift...they were big and heavy, not ideal at all for zipping around turns. The bike was set up for all out drag and one of the guy that rides it reported it at 65MPH(NO NOT STOCK SPEEDO). The bike itself was a cateye that has been hacked to death with an assload of welding...but hey going straight at that speed, weight is not really a problem...

just guess-tamating...isn't the stock engine like 3.5 or soemthing like that? You'll hate yourself for it later if you're gonna put the time and effort into some big engine swap and not go for a bigass engine.

thats what i was asking what is the stock x1 engine bhp if its 3.5 or more wouldnt be any point doing the swap if its less than 2 bhp i'll do the swap as maybe no welding is needed as its a small block probably just fabricate new engine mounts. so what is the stock engines bhp???
