Re: x1 help

did you test your battery for voltage ? you may need a new starter relay or a wire may be dissconnected or cut somewhere....check all possibilities before just settling on buying a new battery............as for the tail-lights even with a bad battery while it is running they should all work unless they have blown out....they are only small l.e.d s anyways........but then again check the wiring

Re: x1 help

thanks for the help. i checked the fuze cuz it acted like my x15 when the fuze blows but the fuze was fine. and i will try to check the wiring but these thing are a mess. i might just take it all out. will the motor work if i just take all the wiring out. and then after a while i just add headlights right to the batter and just have them turn on and off with a little switch on the side or something.

Re: x1 help

If the lights wont work unless the bikes running means the battery is shot.......The battery could of cooked from the starter being bad...........Out of all my X-1's only 2 e-starters work. On the rest the e-starter wont crank the engine but they charge the battery and run the lights when the bikes running.Below is a schematic for the wiring.I find that on all my X-1's the cheesy turn signals burn out fast from vibration;-check the wiring with a light tester or digital multimeter...........Peace

Re: x1 help

thanks man that diagram thing is useful. but how do you think it sounds if i just take all the wiring out and then get new battery. and just make my own headlights. just by 2 wires going directly to the battery and a switch attached to them for on and off. oh and can i start it without a key? cuz my other motor just like that starts fine and there is no wiring at all

oh and is there any speed governors on the x2

Re: x1 help

You have to leave the solenoid and the voltage regulator.......The power coming from the alternator is a/c powered and transferred to D/C current through the regulator.........................if you hook the starter wire direct to the battery and start the bike the a/c back feed will explode the d/c battery unless you use an interupt switch but the battery wont charge.............

You can make a smaller harness with a regulator and wires coming from the solenoid to the starter button on the throttle;-use a toggle for the lights and a toggle switch for the ignition button power switch............this way you can start the bike;charge the battery and run the lighting.....................Peace

Re: x1 help

you can start it without a key..................in the ignition switch harness theres two orange wires and a black with white stripe and green wires;- 4 wires.............the two oranges are the power so the charging system and the e-starter will activate.........................the black and green wires are the killswitch wires...........................when the keys turned on it bridges the connection for the two oranges to transfer the power...............when the switch it turned off it breaks the orange wire connects and bridges the black and green to ground the coil and kill the engine.................

You know that you have to squeeze the left side brake handle when e-starting bike with the stock harness.......right?............Peace

Re: x1 help

The engine is running too lean or theres an airleak at the manifold or carb.............try turning the a/f screw out 1 turn and see what it does.If it didnt get better try a little more if no luck look for an airleak.......you may need to replace the intank fuel filter and clean out the filter sediment from the carb body strainer.................Peace

Re: x1 help

i have a question...

kinda on topic..........
i disconected the relay to try on another bike, now that i put a new engine in my x1....my friend is the dude that took it off ,,, and forgot what wires went where...

4 mystery wires...

1) red wire directly from bat
2) black wire from bat
3) yellow wire going to some connector "regulator?"
4) starter wire.

ok, looking at the relay, the ign switch wires going to the bottom of the relay... the left post of the relay would be hot?
right side being ground?

Re: x1 help

The solenoid is a relay...................it relays the battery power through it with a contact switch thats externally controlled by a seperate power circuit to activate the solenoid to turn the starter..................

one side of the solenoid contact screws goes the battery...................

the battery negative goes to the engine and mount at the transmission screw.......

the yellow wire is the voltage sense wire................it goes with the starter wire on the second terminal on the solenoid.....................Peace
