I finally got my X2 a couple days ago, and im happy with it, but i have a few questions...I'm not car smart at all, and i'm probably going to get flamed for this, but...
1st: When i first got it, we spent almost 3 hours just trying to get this thing started (not competitive or anything, just for fun), and we got tired of trying to figure it out, so all we ended up doing was putting the stabilizer bar in, mixed the gas, put the fuse in, fixed the handle bars, and pumped the little air bubble with fuel...It runs fine, but i'm having a problem starting it. First off, the electric start doesnt work (??), so I have to close the air intake (not sure what its called, but its a little flip that opens up air to the engine if you flip up, and closes it if you flip down), pull start it, wont start, so open the air gate, wont start, close it, wont start, open it, starts and then dies, close it, then it starts, but i have to keep the accelerator handle down because it doesn't idle w/o dying (??), then it runs awesome.
2nd: I pretty much asked all my questions in the 1st question, but why wont electric start work? i turn key and press orange button next to accelerator handle at same time? and i charge it every night (correctly), and if it matters, the fuse is in.
3rd:Why do i have to open and close the air gate every time to even get it to run?
4th:like i said, my friend and i got a little lazy, and it said in the manual to adjust the brakes or something, but it was a tiny picture and not very detailed instructions. We ended up not adjusting them, and they seem fine so far, but do i need to?
Thanks to anyone who responds, i would really appreciate it..thanks
Brad
::EDIT:: oh, and i think i got screwed on the "cvt 3-speed transmission". It seems like it only has one gear, but i goes about 30 on a straight, 35 downhill (which im really really happy with). But would i be shifting if it was a cvt 3 speed? The guy said he would throw in rear mirrors and a helmet too, but they didnt come, so im guessing this guys not really trustworthy.
1. to start hold break then hit eletric start.
2. you charge it depending on how much u use the headlights and starter, every other night is fine
3.. u only need to use the choke when warming up. You dont need to keep putting it up and down.
4. to adjsut the breaks theres a little knob on it, turn it left or right until the wheel spins freely without drag
1) You MUST initially charge the battery overnight before the electric starter will operate.
These bikes usually have no alternator/generator, so the battery needs to be recharged manually.
2) Close the choke plate. With the stock 49cc air filter, this would be in the UP position. PUSH the primer bulb until it fills with fuel. Pull in and hold the left brake lever while pushing the starter button.
3) When the engine pops or attempts to start, OPEN the choke plate slightly less than 1/2 way (down). Hold the brake lever again and push the starter button. Within a few seconds (barring a fouled plug), the engine should start. You may also need to apply a small amount of throttle for a minute or 2, until the engine warms up a bit.
Once the engine is fully warm, the choke should not be necessary for re-starts.
4) To check the brakes, Lift the bike at each wheel and make sure that they spin freely. If the brakes are dragging it will be obvious and now is the time to adjust. If not, leave them alone for now.
Good luck and have fun,
Pops
