x2 vs cateye (mind you this is not on the street but closed course!!!!!)

How do I make my cateyes faster than the X2? I ordered the Sikk Toys Tuned Race Pipe and also 49cc 36 Tooth Sprocket, But boy that CVT really makes a difference on the x2. Anywayz any thoughts on what my exaust and sprocket will do to my bike and the results of our next encounter???

Cool

If you are riding on a track than it might be the big tires but I am not sure because I have a cateye and I race it on a track and my bike has every mod you can think of and I get my azz kick but mabe I just need to practice. I have never been on a x1/x2 any one ever changed the tires on a cateye??? Dose it help turning??

Well the 36 tooth sprocket is said to increase top speed by a significant number thats why I ordered it. But im curious what did your bike say it was topping out at before mines says "42" but is clearly off and was wondering if all the cateyes were like that, because unlike the x2 the cateyes gauge works off of rpms as opposed to actual speed thats why u can lift the back tire off the ground and you can rev the bike to the 60mph range.

Being that the x2 has a cvt if the motors are equal you will never have a very good chance to beat it. Even stock the x will win. Sorry man them's the breaks.

Cateyes are not for racing, they are the worst designed bike out there if you plan on racing, they are heavy, have a dual chain set up that robs power for no reason, the suspension geometry is way off, the tires are too fat and produce too much drag while their weird shape gives no cornering ability and their foot pegs are so low that you cannot even begin to corner hard on it unless you raise them significantly. They are odd looking in my opinion also but I know many people like the looks. Overall they are the most comfortable bike to ride so if you are looking for a slow machine to do some leisurely riding in a local park than that is the bike for you but for racing you would basically be at a huge disadvantage to any other style bike out there. Your best bet with a Cateye is to sell it and not waste your money on modifying it and buy a bike that is a much better racer to start with. Now if I were a drag racer (I consider that pointless on pocket bikes that top out at 25 or 40 heavily modified) than it would not be at such a huge disadvantage especially if you converted to the single chain setup.

being a cateyes owner, i would have to agree as well. remember, this is a 'stock' cateyes we're talking about here in this description

Well if u own the cateye then you also must know how cheap the exaust is and broke on me, not once but twice. I welded it back and it broke again but in the middle of the pipe as oppossed to the muffler from the first time. Anywayz now for some odd reason my gauge hauls serious ace all the way to "47" do you guys know why that is and how the "Sikk pipe for the ninja" performes? I would like to get an estimate on what kind of speed increase i can expect. Thnx

I just installed the Sikk pipe on my X2 . Before pipe , 28-29 on the speedo and after ,32-34 on the speedo . (Crap Speedometer is approx 4-5 mph off) GPS confirms this.
Basically , with the tuned pipe I enjoy approx 4 mph more top speed with improved acceleration as well.

It is hard to believe that you won't just face that Cateyes are slower than all the other bikes and are not designed for performance at all, just look at the tires, they belong on a lawn tractor. I suggest that you go the SEPRA race in your state, I think it is in two weeks and show everyone what a great bike yours is and how it smokes the competition or else quit arguing that your bike can beat any other bike out there, because I will take any of the 380x or X# style bikes onto the track stock and beat your highly modified Cateye with my 250lbs fat a$$ on it. I won't have a chance to go but a buddy of mine is going so you can race him as my represantative, I will set it up or are you all talk? I will even make it interesting and wager my house on the race if you would like.
