the Solenoid should be under the gas tank. should have wires on to screws/bolts about 1 inch apart.

how long was it sitting prior to the 3 hour drive? if you were doing some idling and not turning the engine over it would not charge the bat much.

a somewhat on topic question,

has anyone bothered to charge these things with a trickle charger? i have not been on my bike since november or so and the battery is dead. pull start works of course...

if youhave the x7 49cc 2troke, it will not charge itself. only the 4stroke models do. you should let charge for atleast 4 hours. and you might wanna check your fuse tooo. you might of blown that if your starter is not working. try opening the side where the pull start cord is. look inside, sometimes the Stater claw comes out of place and bloks rotation of the engine to start with the electric start.

You're mistaken dude. The 2 stroke X7's don't come with a charger and charge themselves. The cateyes do that too but suck at it. sounds like the solinoid (sp) to me too. Same thing happened on my cateyes, replaced it and vaula problem solved.

Yeah, my point exactly. They use the magneto to charge the battery while the enging is running, therefore eliminating the need for a charger.

take your bike out for a cruise today and make sure u got the revs a lil high and try to keep above 15mph and after a maybe 5 to 10 min cruise shut it off and and try usin the electric start should positively work. i have never pluged my bike in the wall to charge i use the pull start and electric after a cruise to a buddys when i shut it off cause it just charged.
