x7 Top End

I think something is wrong with my Top end. Today i was driving my bike in the neighborhood on a straight a way. And the speedometer doesnt go past 15 i dont know why. All of a sudden i get this pull and it dips past 15 i was like oh wow!! This was the frist time i felt it do that in the last past 3 days that i have been driving my bike. Could something be lose in my transmission?? What does this mean? COuld the Oil and Gas Ratio effect this?? Maybe im getting close the what oil to gas mixture i should be using?

I have been trying different oil ot gas mixtures. But right now im running 4 ozs to 1 gallon. But i dont think is this effecting it. I think it might be the trans.

Any comments or advice thanks in advance

THanks,

Orlando

Is it loose?.....it should have a 1/2-3/4" play up and down in the chain.
The way to adjust it is to loosen the rear axle nuts and then tighten the two 10mm adjusters on the axle.....you will see them sticking out of the rear of the swingarm.
I do not understand what you said it did. Could you clarify again what it is doing?

ok it feels like my bike is trying to change to the next gear but its not doing it. On the speedometor the max speed says 30. But it only goes up to 15 mph. WHen i was driving on the straight-a way earlier i felt a boost and it went past 15mph ( on the Speedometer). It only happend to me once thats why i wondering what could be causing this.....

there are no gears or cvt on x7 but most likely its the intake manifold or the manifold gaskets leaking...a friend of mine had a leak between the manifold and the head on his x7 and thats exactly what happened..check it out

That sounds almost normal to me. As the motor gets broke in it will get faster. That boost you got may just be the rings being seated...

Im just curious to know how many Gaskets are there in total that go on the cylinder. I know there is one for the head. one for exhuast. How many go on the intake 2 or 3??? do u need to add another one if you have a Vstack and Airfilter?

Can some1 explain to me where these go?? http://www.pocketbikesunlimited.com/49GASKET.html

Thanks,

Orlando

To link you provided....In order from top left to bottom of page.
Top left- it goes between the carb and intake.
Top middle- head gasket
Top right- case gasket
2nd row left- exhaust gasket
2nd row middle- it goes between the intake manifold and heads intake.
2nd row right- this gaslet is for the the gearbox transmission on cateye bikes
3rd row left- this is the gasket that goes between the v-stack and carb.

Most carbs have an o-ring seal on the front of the carb....so that usually seals up to the v-stack ok.

If the o-ring is good then no need for the other gasket......and it will not make any performance difference.
