bike is smoking from exhaust alot

hey guys i just bought my first pocket bike, when i first started i just opend it up and just put gas a run it, it ran for a little while and then it just turn off. I look at the manual and i found that it need to mix the gas with oil. so i follow the mix and now there is alot of smoke coming out from the exhaust i think i put to much oil.

What bike did you buy?

Go to a local motorcycle shop, and purchase a RatioRite measuring cup for $5 and a bottle of high-quality FULL SYNTHETIC two-stroke oil. Ask the bike shop how to use the cup. Drain out all the fuel you put in.

Carefully mix the new oil and 1 gallon of high test gas at 40:1. That should be enough for two full tanks. Read the Cag break-in section on the best way to break in your bike. (even if it's not a Cag). Run all of the two tanks thru the motor.

Then go to 50:1 from then on.

You're lucky that the motor didn't seize.

Read your owner's manual from cover to cover.

You need to start over. Empty your gas out and replace your spark plug.

When breaking in a new motor you should never use full synthetic. We break all our bikes in with castor bean oil and gas in a 35:1 oil:fuel ratio. In 3.5 years we've never had a problem with our break ins. Nothing over 91 octane is really necessary but don't go under that either. After one or two tanks (personal preference) then we bump up to a 50:1 synthetic blend. Once you're through with the breakin gas you'll notice a difference in power, for the better.

Ratio Rite is your friend. I hope your bike didn't partially seize.

Hi Erica

I haven't seen you post here before. I used to see your name a lot somewhere else. Thanks for clarifying and editing my instructions.

I didn't even think about the fouled plug.

if you ran it for any significant amount of time you prolly hurt your motor good.

I post here sometimes too.
