Blata mixture ratio

Hey all,

I have a Blata Elite 13, 9.2 hp Air cooled. I believe it is the Dell-orto 14/14 carb or something like that. My bike feels like it has an awesome top end, almost wants to wheelie otu from under me when it hits the "powerband", but the low end seems boggy. Poor acceleration. Could this be from my mxture being too lean? I couldn't find any mixture screws on this carb. thoughts?

if you have the dell orto 14/14 SHA there is only an idle adjustment, sounds like the clutch is engaging to early, what do you have it set for? you will need a tach to properly set your clutch

hmmmm, that sounds like a very viable possibility. There is no way to set the clutch without a tach? Hmmmmmm, I guess i'll have to look into tachs? How much are they? cheapest kind to get? Cheapest place to get it?

call gokart shops, i found a mychron lite for $20 used, u really do need it to be able to tell what rpm it is engaging at, my elite is engaging at 8700 rpm right now, as the clutch shoes wear the lenth of the clutch springs needs to be adjusted to compensate, so unless its a new clutch you really cant measure the lenth for accurate adjustment, also when adjusting your clutch use a caliper to make sure each shoe is adjusted exactly the same.

Hey,

I have to put a new top end on my Elite. New piston/ring/cylinder/gaskets. Is it bad to break it in with the clutch not properly adjusted? Could it cause any particular damage? It seems like it may just make it a little more sluggish etc. I would like to break it in tomorow or something, after I get this top end on, and not wait for the tach to get here...

Thanks
