What is the difference between the normal bzm ring compare to the racing ring?

In term of performance what is the difference? Does it last longer than normal or just gimick?

Chromed rings last alot longer. They take more time to seat when new, but they last twice as long. As long as proper gas/oil ratios are being followed and the bike is jetted right. Nothing will endure a lean motor with not enough lubrication.

Re: BZM piston ring

I orderd a racing ring, but it i not chrome. Instead it is a black in colour. Infact, the stock ring comes in chrome. Do anyone know why?

The Chrome rings are not entirely chromed. Just the outside edge is chromed. The rest is black. Where did you order your ring?

Yea, the normal ones are chrome, but the racing rings are black. BTW, I ordered from Italy.

Re: BZM piston ring

This is what I told from BZM website.

CHROME PISTON RING 40 mm (50 cc)
zoom

RACING CHROME PISTON 40 mm - 50cc
zoom

The funny thing is that in BZM website, it stated racing chrome piston. Firstly, it is not a piston, secondly it is not chrome as shown in the picture. Also when I receive the racing ring, it state 018,004 so I presume it wouldbe for racing. I did post this topic on a euro forum. From the answer I get is chrome ring last longer, racing ring perform better because it teflon coated. I don't know. I am just stating the answer from the forum.

Re: BZM piston ring

Yes, 018.004 is the racing piston ring chromed. It doesn't look like it is chromed on the outer edge because of the Teflon coating.
The wording they have is just a typo.

What we mean by this is, it is a CHROME ring with a TEFLON coating.
