I mounted mine off of a welded tab on the frame to the right of the fuel tank under the bodywork, and mounted the damper arm to the underside of the top triple clamp. It made it much more rideable. I can send pics if you need. Some people mount off of the fairing stay back to the triple, but it is not stout enough on the Elite to do it (say like a GRC gp)
