The tires are directional, when they come from the factory they are on backwards. For better handling, you'll want to swap them around.

Damn Dempsy... didnt know you had a 2.5 sittin' around the whole time we been racing.

I know your gonna be doing PBGP w/ us this comming season. Hopefully you can make it out to SMRRC Stockton, Prairie City (Sacramento), and im close to getting a deal going at Kinsman out in Dixon, CA.

If the clutch bell is the same get the zoochi adjustable cag one. If they make a specific adjustable for the Blata get it. It will obviously be cheaper than the one made for a Cag. Devils Stable has it locally. Im workin in Sunnyvale around the corner from Devils Stable. Im there till next Mon. so let me know and I can p/up one for you.

Your 14/14 carb I can also get but the source I cant mention on PBP so you will have to PM, IM, or email me!!!

Cant wait to smoke that 2.5 this year w/ my Cag... LOL!!!

whuddup mo, yeah I had this 2.5 for awhile but pissed me off with the rope problems. broke every 2 to 3 pulls I had to crack it open replace the rope every time I ran it. ain't good for race day, too much down time and wrenching. came close to chucking this damn bike out onto my street so many times LOL! (fyi: was also up for sale on craigslist for $350-$400 but no hooks)

yeah PBGP next season! after the holidays I'll be getting out of the midweight class and add 20lbs up into the heavyweights LOL. SMRRC & Prairie still iffy at the moment cuz drift practice in Tracy is cutting into my funds. Kinsman is a maybe since its not as far as SMRRC & Prairie but how much to enter at Kinsman?

2 shoe fully adjustable clutch is what I've been looking for instead of a simple spring swap. I'm gonna be out of town for awhile after thur, so I'm not sure when I'm going to get back at you if you do pick one up for me at the Devils Stable. so I don't want to keep you hanging. but if you happen to head out to the Devils Stable by any chance, can you do a price check for me? thanks

mo btw your sig, is that mark soriano that passed away??? ***?!?!

Well... he was on the dorm campus and someone called 911 cause he was roaming about outside suspiciously. When the cops showed up he started dumpin'. I think it was 1 of 3 cops that returned fire. Later dying in the ER. He just got out of CYA about 2 years ago for shooting someone in the face. If he aint learned from that then he had it commin' to him. "Live by the gun, die by the gun".

I think I need to correct myself "dual reed cages" I ment 4 petal reeds like the one in the picture below in this stage 1 kit.

I seriously doubt it, but you'd never know until you split the case and take a look inside.

yeah true. well I have a spare cag engine and also blata 2.5 engine laying around. been lazy to crack it open and match it up but I'll get around to it one of these days. just thought if someone had the same idea as me and checked already? (save me some time lol)

another 2.5 update

with the cag (custom ported) carb and matched manifold making it launch just as fast as a cag or even faster. I thought of opening her up some more by installing a 4 petal dual stage reed kit. (similar to the ones that come in some stage 1 kits for 2.5's) just recently ordered, so hopefully it should come in soon? I have high hopes for this next mod, making the full range (low/mid/high) pull even faster with the dual stage and raising the RPM's even scream higher! stock I believe is 11,000 RPMs, with mods that I've done sounds like I've added plenty more and reviews on normal 4 petal without dual reed stage gave it another 900 RPMs so they say? but when it does come in, I'll give further updates!

I've also changed the clutch bell from the blata over to the cag. since the cag clutch bell is alot thinner (this may not apply to all cag clutches and may differ?) with the bell being thinner, it gives it some time to rev up, extend out, and grab harder. instead of engaging at a lower RPM and not giving the engine some time to spool up to its powerband thus the slow acceleration or lag that the 2.5's are known for! so my next upgrade will be an adjustable clutch, either the polini replica (cag) or the zocchi. I'm leaning more to get the zocchi

just another tip for those 2.5 owners that are looking for some simple upgrades!

woah my stock 2.5 reeds (metal) shatered into 3 piece two nights ago at top end. maybe to a CF reed shatering but never would of thought that would happen to these kind of stock reeds. good thing the next day later (my birthday) the 4 petal dual stage reeds came in. I had to do several mods to get it to fit (which was a pain the crack!) but once I got it in, I couldn't help but admire it from a distance lol. now I just need to test the bike either tomorrow or sometime this week.

hi PcP, nice to see another 2.5 owner

nice to see my old thread bumped up again. (forgot about this one lol) all the small mods worked great! the biggest difference was the 4 petal dual stage reed cage. although the second stage reeds that came with the kit, kinda sucked? why you ask, it didn't sit as well and no proper seal which gave it a .3mm gapping between the reed and the cage. not to also mention that it was even harder to start, due to the reed not sitting well. with the hard starts, came an easy fix... starter fluid with 1 to 2 quick 1/2 a second shots into the carb mouth. takes about 2 to 3 pulls if the fuel is primed up.

reeds gave great response! felt like it shifted gears once the second stage reeds kicked in, screeming!

for some reason over the time I last posted on this thread/ran my bike last year during the raining seasons and the time it sat and collected dust, till a few weeks ago, starting her back up again... it wouldn't start!!! guess what, the reeds had an even bigger gap lol even starting fluid didn't work. ended up removing the dual stage reeds and slapping the original 4 petal metal reeds that sit "very" snug onto the mouth of the reed cage. now the bike runs well and starts up easy but lost the kick from the dual stage

just waiting on some polini reeds!!!

no, that is not true. they are not hard starting. hayabusa is saying that it was hard for him to start his bike cause there was a gap and it was not sitting flat.
