| Re: GianniniR1 or DM Brutale Everyone will have their preference for the tiny tight turning bikes as opposed to a longer, more stable (forgiving) and comfortable bike. I have ridden the tiny bikes and yes, they turn like no other. If the tracks that my club raced on were nothing but turns, the short bikes are the way to go. If the track opens up with sweepers and fast straights (or you are just a bigger guy), do yourself a favor and get a more stable bike (GRC RR, full size DM, Giannini R1, Polini 911). If you have the luxury of both set one up for short twisty tracks and set up the other bike for the more open ones.
Kevin P. what did you not like about the Giannini R2? I rode it and thought it was pretty good. The only thing I didn't like was it was next to impossible to get the rear to slide, if you wanted it to. The titanium frame really hugs the track especially over bumps better than the chromoly. |
