Got Me a 2.5 for $305.00 yesssss

hey guys wassup, i'll be posting alot in the blata threads now kus iust won a blata 2.5 off of ebay for only 305.00 from a guy that lives in southern california, just like me. I plan on picking it up, so no shipping charges. What should i be checking for when i pick it up? I have two cags, so i'm not completely dumb about pocketbikes. And what can i do to fix it up to go 40mph+. Whats the average speed for a blata 2.5? I like to get down and hang on the side of the bike when i go into those turns. I'm quite good infact, not to brag, I was wondering will it be different on a blata, harder or easier?.....how much smaller is the blata in comparison to the hf cag. Lets get this thread going guys thanks

From what i've heard, heard, not seen, it's a bit harder to corner with the 2.5 because of the tires. I have seen a 2.5 with Cag wheels however and it feels like a whole different bike, again, from what i've heard. Not from one person either.

I've heard turning the wheel around so the thread is facing the opposite what it is right now helps a lot too. Can someone elaborate?

Was that the Blue Blata 2.5? yeah good deal for $305 - just get the Polini airfilter adapter for the delorto carb 14L, change the jetting to 76 or 78 and add a Polini airfilter on it and you should see considerable amount of gain on the perfomance....good luck!

hey guys when i got my bike it had no air filter or fuel filter. Fuel filter is no problem but i dont quite know exactly where i can get the K & N air filter, online? or any auto parts store? do i have to make an adapter? if so how or only purchasable? boy this bike is tiny from a cag. hehe

Dell'Orto SHA 14/14 carburetor ($60), the current and significantly improved 2004 2.5 exhaust ($130) and a Stage I upgrade ($59), which consists of a K&N style filter, racing clutch springs and fatter jet. IMO, nothing more than this is really needed for the 2.5 powerplant.

Those prices are guesstimates, give or take $10 in either direction.

Since you don't have the stock air-box, at minimum, you should start with the Stage I upgrade, which can be purchased at DCminimoto / AdavancedMotosports. The best prices, parts, service and support for all of your PB needs, hands down.

Riding without the stock air-box or filter is definitely not good. I'll be at the Burris Speedway in Rialto tomorrow afternoon with some buddies and if you'd like to come out, I'll bring a spare air-box that you can have for free. I'll even toss in a 54T sprocket and yank everything on the bike and make any repairs or adjustments for you. If you need a new clutch or something, I will toss that in too.

That jetting is way too fat for a 2.5, which runs a 52 jet stock.

thank you sooooo much for your offer minimotopilot. I'm glad there still are people like you around. Thats a very generous offer, i really don't know anything about the blata, only the cags, and i would love for someone to look it over and fix it up if need be. However, i work on the weekends and i can't make it. I work alot infact, and the only time i get to ride is at nite time at the popular lot we have by LAX airport. I would love to make it down to rialto someday as well. I get sooo many ofers to go down by the guys that i ride with, but i have work so i always decline. for the time being i put a medical mesh wraps around the carb opening to keep large particles out. its for the time being but im planing on ordering but i got to get going rite now, its saturday nite ride nite. time to ride it for the first time hehehhe.....

ok the problems with this bike is that it needs an airfilter bad, its boggs at WOT and at different times as well. I did feel the difference in bikes, where as you can feel that the blata has more power and compression from its engine rather than a cag. I was thinking about changing the back wheel only with the 6.5 and keep the stock blata wheel in front?...what do you think guys, what can i do to have better low end with these bikes.

Since you couldn't make it out to the track today, send me your address and I will mail you a stock air-box.

Other than possibly experimenting with slightly larger jets and adjusting the idle, there's really no tuning the Dell'Orto 14/12.

for the time being, i cut a 2 inch circular piece of yellow foam to fit around the inside of the carb and enclosed it all with a larger piece from a clean shirt with a bracket on the outside to keep it all in place. It seem to work alright tonite but sometime it still bogged, but not as much as lastnite. I was wondering guys, what would i need to do inorder to increase the bottom end, because it really needs it for the tight track. The cags are way fast on bottom end and i need a remedy to this problem.

hey weenee, you and me both are running into the same problems. (although mine came with the stock intake box but without any kind of foam/paper fillter, not sure if this is normal?) I too also have 2 cags and I know the parts on these bikes like the back of my hand but as far as the blata 2.5? its a different story (engine wise...) I put the cag back tire on and tried to put the cag front tire, BUT... my front tire is hitting my exhaust (header portion) uumm... so I put the stock blata tires back on, untill I find a fix to this.

yeah so my main question is, "what would I have to do to get my blata low end up like a cag or close to?" and since the dellorto doesn't have a A/F needle adjustment, what jet should I run instead of the one I have on mine? (52 jet)

sorry to rob your thread weenee but I think we need the same questions asnwered hehe

lets ask all the questions you can think of for the blata 2.5 because US cag riders are new to the Euro scene hehe. yea what kind of jet is best, and Hayabusa, why dont you try to run a larger wheel in the back with the stock in the front and tell me how it is. That's got to be crazy but hey, worth a try. I'm thinking about taking my cag stock sprocket and put it on my stock blata wheel. so i will be running a 6 tooth pinion and 68 or whatever number the stock sprocket is for the Cag. all the mods that I've been doing is jsut for the time being, until i get some more money for real blata or polini parts. HEHE, i still have to pay my bro for my blata, he's the one that fronted me the cash.
