Hello all. New to the GRC forum (woo-hoo) as I just picked up a RR last week. Coming off a C1, the GRc seems smaller and lighter. My only problem is I find my legs are really cramped as the pegs are about 1 inch or so higher than the c1 when positioned side by side. I have really thick legs and the lower C1 pegs feel much better.
Can I modify the RR pegs in anyway to "give me a little more room"..or not really and its' a "I'll get used to it situation??" Thanks for any input.
John,
As a fellow RR racer you will get used to it. Believe me it took me a long, long, LONG time to get used to the position. I now find it much more comfortable than the DM's and Stamas position (my opinion). Keep in mind that necessity is the mother of inventions. Whatever you do don't lower them or you'll be scraping the pegs often. Try making a bracket to move them forward.
Good Luck.
Eddie
I had the same problem keeping my feet on the pegs of my DM, that is what prompted me to create the "Meathooks" footpegs. You should give them a try, they really do work great.
LOL~ why do you think my c1's so comfortable...................they have your MEATHOOKS on them~
Now originally I changed the c1's pegs were that they were very flimsy on the end of the flat peg. My feet literally slipped off. On the RR-very nubby-stiff peg, but just high-bout 1 inch higher than the c1. Will an adpater with your peg lower it a bit?? Now that would be the ticket!!
Hey John - did you ever look close at my C1? I had the meathooks with the long adapters mounted and facing to the rear. I guess it all depends on what the GRC peg mounts look like b/c the adapters need something to grab. Possibly a bolt through the existing peg mount? Did that make any sense?
Patrick......yes I ve seen the set up on the c1~ exactly what I had in mind~ demon spit will it work on the RR peg set up.....your adapters and meathook? Thanks~ JOHN
hey Eddie....meant to ask you.....what did you ride before the GRC??
YZF R-1, ZX-7, GSXR, etc.
The RR was/is my first PB. I did a ton of "research", borrowed PB's at practices, and took a good look at how serious I was going to take this sport. I have been more than pleased with my decision.
