I just received my polini 910 6.2 race pipe today, and it looks great. The expansion chamber is smaller than my old race pipe, but the header is HUGE. The expansion chamber is longer but about 2mm smaller in diameter. Other than that, everything from the exit from the head to the end of header, is so much bigger than my old race pipe.
But, (isn't there always a but) there is a small problem. I don't know if I should have the flange welded to the header. Here's my problem...theres 4 attachments total. Meaning two attachment arms that connect the header to the pipe, but there's another two sets of arms thats clost to the head, where I don't know what the heck those are used for. I thought there would be something that would connect the flange to the header through maybe a spring, but there only came one set of springs, and thats to connect the header to the actual pipe. I know it sounds confusing, but you'll see it in the pics. For now, the pipe seems loose, and during a race, the pipe might pop off the flange. Any ideas?????
I'm no 2T expert but the the larger size header should allow the pipe to "hit" quicker than your old race pipe. The larger expansion chamber should give you a nice gain in power up top as well as a bit higher RPMs.
That is strange on the header flange, it's as if something is missing. I doubt the flange should be like that without some sort of reatiner. The extra hooks are definitely for another set of springs to hold the header onto the flange but as you questioned, where. If no one else chimes in here that knows, I would definitely get that welded before running the pipe.
I know, its weird. I'll have to look into this more. Something definitely not right here.

Did you try to contact 9nails. He just got the pipe last month and is a direct bolt on. I would give him a PM or email just to see if he can anwers your question.

yup, you're missing those 2 springs and the 2 little hangers that attach to the cylinder head bolts! after you put those one, you won't need to weld that piece on, i never had any leaks!
Thanks for the tips guys. I figured it out the day after I got the pipe. Just went to home depot to get an extra set of springs, hooked it to the head studs, and called it a day. Works great.
does the race pipe come with a diffrent silencer cuase my new 910 water cooled pipe looks different then my old 910 air cooled pipe oh yea my new 910 is the old style not the carena s
Can you take some pictures of the new / old 910 that you just got ?

Very nice !!!!! I can see the diffrent now that I look at Ted bike closer. My exhaust header is alot longer then his stock pipe, that cause my fairing seat lower then his. But as far the seat goes .... look the same.
What I really want to see is the clearance between the rear tire and the water pump on the that bike.
