Does anyone know if the RX frame and the RR fame are the same one? I know that the RX is the mini version of the RR but are the frames smaller as well? or is it just the rear swimgarm?
Also will the fairings of an RR fit on a RX? Maybe the rear seat may be different, but are the front fairings smaller?
What are the differences in frame structure between the RX and the RR?
Looking into buying 2 GRC, but don't know whether to buy 2 rr's or 1rr and 1 rx.
Going by part numbers, the main frame for the RR and RX are the same part. The billet pieces that connect the swingarms to the main frame are different. The swing arms are different. The subframes (saddle section) are the same. The front upper and lower fairings are the same. The rear fairing (seat/tank cover) are different. The fenders are the same.
For convenience sake you would probably want to consider two of the same bikes no matter which one you go with. 1) parts swap out easier. 2) You don't have to remember which bike you're riding and adapt your riding style to that bike. They do handle differently.
I've been told by people that have ridden both that the GP is physically heavier, slightly slower turning (because it's longer) and extremely stiff. One person I know that owns both a GP and an RSR absolutely loves his and rails on it. The other said it's similar but not as good as an RSR.
Dave.. I had a chance to take my GRC GP out for a run. Coming off the 910 like you I did notice a weight differance. The bike handeled well and I enjoyed the ride height alot more. Going through turns you may have to hang off a tad more to rail at speed but other than that it's a good bike..
Im a little iffy about the weight of the GP, although they look like tanks there not as heavy as I expected. Although its nothing compared to a Super Proddy BMS (weight wise which is CRAZY light) its still cool.
No problem with leaning out a little more, thats where the fun parts is
