I guess car dealer will be so happy when you come to buy a car at MSRP |
For an example, what it sounds like your saying is that the importers bring these bikes in at $1500 and automatically double the price to $3000? It's a bit exagerated. I'm not sure where you got your information, but I will try to help....the MSRP isn't double the cost of these bikes. You may have heard what it would cost to buy the bike from the manufactuer, but no one ever considers the tariffs, duties, and other taxes charged for importation into the US,the transportation to get it here, handling charges, etc. It adds up quick and then you have to worry about the exchange rates.
GRC/Midsouth hasn't raised their prices in two years....I don't know how they do it, but they are. Shop around to some other manufacuters and see what prices they're asking for super production bikes and open bikes and the GRC is already a few hundred cheaper from the start.
I don't begrudge anyone trying to save $100 - $200 on a new bike, but that's only about 4% of the value not 50% (or double as you state above).
