Re: a big thank you from colorado!

Steve, thanks again for the invite, I really enjoyed racing with ya'll!

For those that don't know---

The Texas Contingent - Jim and Jimmer Adams, Stuart Siroky, Mike "The Sausage" Kielbasa, Jonathan Cuero and myself attended the August 27th RMMMC (www.rmminimoto.com) race at GRE kart race track (just East of Colorado Springs).

We arrived Saturday and got in some good practice before the rain came and had us scurrying. The next moring saw us up early and at the track for some more practice and tuning. Pressure altitude was around 8800 feet, so the tuning time was really necessary! The track has some expansion cracks, but is a really great track. Great grip, fast sweepers and tight hairpins, and some ELEVATION change! It can be changed into about 3 to 4 different layouts/lengths, think we ran next to the longest one.

The RMMMC guys were great, had a good turnout (think largest class had 14 riders?).

If memory is right, 50 open had Jimmer, Mike, and Stuart in 1-3 respectively, and Super Proddy had Jimmer, Stuart and Steve (Steve is the RMMMC president) in 1-3 respectively. I threw a chain and tried to take Steve out, but he jumped back up and recovered his spot after going over half a lap down from the crash. ;-)

This is the same weekend Jonathan crashed in and broke his clavical. The people were great, a complete stranger took Jonathan to the hospital.

Great hospitality, free hot dogs and great racing. I'd recommend racing there if you get the chance!

Yes, Thank You!

It was a pleasure to ride with the lot of you. I'm a Super Prod rider and the Father of the fast kid on the green cag. You guys really put on one hell of a show. Smooth is and understatement!!! We're still talking about your visit up here in Denver.

We hope Jonathan made out O'k after the trip to the hospital and back to Texas. Please post an update on his recovery when available.

We'll see you all when rmminimoto heads South for a spin.

Mike D.

Re: a big thank you from colorado!

Jonathan broke his clavicle in 4 places and did some other damage to his shoulder, his first surgery was schedule for last Wednesday, but I havent spoken to him since then. He said it would probably take multiple surgeries and he would have to keep it immobilized for up to 6 months. For anyone that has had their arm in a sling for an extended period, you know how aggravating that crap can be, I know I do and I only had mine for like a month.

I'll post more info as I have it.

Re: a big thank you from colorado!

Update on Jonathan.. His surgery went about 1 and half hour longer than originally scheduled, but came out okay.. if you count the extra baggage of a steel plate and 6 screws as okay. He's back at work (and hating it trying to do his job with his one arm).

Jonathan, if they try to stop you in the airport, just throw them the finger (from your good arm) and just run! haha

Re: a big thank you from colorado!

Thank you for the update on Jonathan. I knew he broke it pretty bad but didn't think he would need all the extra baggage. I feel for him, I have a plate with screws and a pin on both sides of my jaw from a crash when I was much younger.

Please let Jonathan know that all of us here in Colorado wish him a speedy recovery. Sucks you have to work and can't ride but at least you still have one good arm to entertain yourself with!

Re: a big thank you from colorado!

first of all thanks Rita a Colorado springs by-stander that was kind enogh to borrow her brother inlaws car to take me to memorial hospital, helped me fill out the applications and then took me to the airport for my flight home.
thank you

like mike said this was only part one of the recovery process.
i have been told that i will not have full range of motion on my right arm/shoulder. ( i'm rigth handed)
i am back at work but with a lot of grief i'm a mechanical designer and use many cad tools which are almost imposible to work with my left hand

i wont be able to ride pocket bikes again which is sad because i really enjoyed going out on the track with you guys.
this has been the biggest toll to me yet because ridding was not something i was planning to stop doing for a log time. i've also ruined my chances to get my 4 year old into the sport because mom hates it now.. what can you do.

so now i'm in the process of selling my ZPF and ridding gear so if any one needs anythin hit me up cause i wont be needing it.
good luck to you all.

Re: a big thank you from colorado!

jonathan; i'm sorry to hear the bad news you posted about your shoulder, but i do have a comment for you. do not always believe what those doctors say. my bother had a shoulder injury and the docs said he would never be the same and would never beable to throw a base ball again, guess what he throws just as good as he did before. (he has played semi-pro ball before) i don't see how you need full range of motion to race pocket bikes? you should keep your head up and prove them wrong! you can do it! tell your wife, there are risk's for anything you do, so if your 4 yr old wants to race let them do it. (kids heal faster and better than us old people anyway!) anyway let me know if you need anything! i'll do anything i can! take care and good luck!
