Land speed racing

The current LSR for a pocketbike is 78mph i think. I've got a "pep boys" pocket bike, so I don't know what kind it is, but I am installing a '93 yz-80 engine which has been bored to 110cc. I should have this in the bag, but I would like some pointers on setting this bike up. so far I have put no money into this project, and I fabricate my parts. What are the rules to this class? (if anyone knows) and where can I find drive systems? chains/sprockets for the d/b's 480 chain?

Re: Land speed racing

land speed record rules are set up for a large number of classes. they specify vehicle type, type of fuel, engine type and displacement. while you might be able to set a record of some kind it wouldn't be for the record you refered to. that record is for a minimoto, which is a 50cc engine with cetrifical clutch.

Re: Land speed racing

if you get the bike over 78 thatl be a fun thing to see but since its a x1 pocketbike ur gonna want to go through every type of welds on the bike or even get a better one at pbu
