cobra s4 crankshaft and mods ?

I just ordered a cobra S4 from MPR before finding this forum . Before it gets here though I already have some modifications in mind . The first ? i need answered is does this quad have a 10mm or 12mm pin. I need to order the correct crank. I'm going to order through HKMOTOS and it takes a couple weeks from what i understand to get here so i want to order now as i just ordered th quad today .
As far as mods go i was going to order the yellow jacket head kit and with full circle crank , dellorto style 15mm carb , 78 tooth #25 chain rear , 3rd bearing 6 tooth clutch housing , chain x2 for length ,and the 2 shoe red spring clutch , along with the metal pull start with alloy cog and the lightned flywheel Ps also the triple stage reed.
This is my 1st 2 stroke build ever , did i miss anything ? and does this combo sound good ?
Also going to get the chain breaker
Thanks in advance for you input

Re: cobra s4 crankshaft and mods ?

Those mods look good. Theres just 3 things i should point out.
1. The yellow jacket will require you to use high octane racing fuel.
2. That chain an sproket is not going to work. The quads use larger chains and sprokets.
3. When it comes to buying, you should order a polini green reed. (Get the sheet so that you can cut the out the shape that matches the stock reed.)

Re: cobra s4 crankshaft and mods ?

First off thank you for your input .
How high an octane will this need ? I may change routes on this mod and go with something a little more mild in that case .I did a bunch of reading on this forum yesterday and thats why i'm changing the drive and driven sprockets along with the chain to a #25 . If i change them all it should work from what I read here . Thanks for the advice on the green reed I may try that . Thanks again

Re: cobra s4 crankshaft and mods ?

First of all, you are correct to swap everything over to the 25 chain, pinion and sprocket, I would not go with the 78 tooth rear, with the 6 tooth pinion a 68 tooth will work great with the headkit, and by the way 92 octain works just fine with that headkit. Do not get that 2 shoe clutch, a three shoe with a set of performance springs is the way to go.
