Damsel in Distress!!

Hi guys, I just received little dirt bike I purchased for my nephew....we mixed our petrol & oil & filled tank & to our excitement it started almost first pull of the starter so we just let it tick over for a while. The next day when we went to start it again it wouldn't then we realised petrol tank was empty which puzzled us, so we put some more in then realised we had a leak. It seemed to be leaking badly from where the tube from petrol tank attaches into little Y shaped connector that then feeds the 2 tubes that attach to the carby (as you can see I'm not very technical but I am female) I have attached a pic so you can see what I'm talking about and a pic of type of bike I bought. I'm hoping you can give me some tips as to what to do to fix this or where I can purchase new one of these and what the hell it is called so I know what to ask for. Also I dont have a fuel tap on the bike, is this normal? My friends boy has tap on his but he only has 1 fuel tube going into the carb. I hope this makes sense & someone can tell what this part is called & maybe what it is used for.

Thanks a million

Celt

I have not seen the setup you have with the two into one line setup you have a piston port engine and they have two lines from the tank. One is the fuel line the other is a return line back to the tank. I don't see how the setup you have would work with a stock carb. I wonder if someone made this setup after the tank was changed for some reason.
