more Top speed

Hi, i have a Pocket Dirt Bike with 47cc Mitsubishi engine with the 53cc big bore kit and i want more top end, i intalled the Timing advance key and i was wondering how could i get more top speed without changing the sprockets. i am still in break in period with 25:1 soon to go with 32:1 or 40:1. I still have the stock carburetor and stock reed valve with stock air filter. i bored my intake. so if you have any ideas please let me know

If your engine is reving out you cant go any faster unless you change sprockets...

first take the timing key off.... buy a 4 pedal reed cage, ip2 pipe and of course a after market filter or just put some stretched panty hose over the carb lol

Stretched panty hose is not a air filter; they are simply stretched panty hose. Put it this way, can you see thru panty hose? Can you see thru an air filter? now think about which lets more dirt thru. PH will block big stuff but no ways near as much carb junking and engine seizing dirt as a filter.

We used panty hose OVER the air filters during the dusty months when I was Iraq, but not just panty hose.

Spend the 10 bucks and buy a filter.

the timing advance key reduce the top speed??? but improves the low end???

and the ip2 pipe?? where can i buy it???

heh talking aboit air filters, can i buy like them huge filters made from K&N for cars on autozone and install them on my 110cc?

i bought a new fiberglass reed valve and increased the jet size by 0.04 i use .68 instead of .64 but it seems ther's too much gas because when the bike is full throttle it make a bizzare sound and it doesn't want to go faster. when i drop the trottle the engine stops so i guess i'll have to reduce the jet

what about the rocket key?? should i remove it?

yeah why not??? you only have to make an "adaptor" because the flange diameter will probably be too big for your bike's v-stack

Volcom theres a thread flying around about how to modifie your stock pipe ..... mostly everyone that has done it has said it does wonders and some even say that its better than jetpro and ip2 pipes both in low and top hp.

hay i have a 49cc bike and i want to make it so i can wheelie uuuuuuuummmmmm is there a way to do that without putting lots of money into it?

sit in the back the most possible. go at about... 4mph and then give a swing back on the sterring while opening the throttle

and then it's just about givin some gas to lean it back and when you feel that the bike will fall press the rear brake and then the gas and the break....the thing is to get the balance !!!
this is what i do for wheelies.... if someone have another easier trick...let me know!!

by the way for doin whellies you need more torque at low rpm

Get a rear sproket with more teeth(bigger) than the stock one... that should give you more torque but less top speed

get the biggest you can.... and if you even want more torque.... get a smaller front sprocket

This minibike's top speed is only 31mph and I would like drive faster. What would I do/buy that bike goes faster? Racing exhaust? Bigger carburetor? better airfilter? Where can I buy like those parts?

Motor: 1-cylinder, aircooled, 2-stroke, 49cc
Weight: 44lbs
Top speed: 31mph
Tires: 12,5" x 2,75" / 12,5" x 2,75"

well that depends if you wanna spend 100 dollars on and airfilter plus a manifold that funnels down and plus since a 110cc carb wouldnt have enough suction to go through the filter let alone the huge manifold

I saw a no2 kit on ebay for 20 pounds it claims it can increse the speed by 50-70 % but only for 15 secounds or so on 1 botle.

nos is not good with reeds and the only true nos kit that will work for pocketbikes is the 1 on pbu for 600$

but... obsidian has made his own nos kit for a fraction of the price but you need:

nitrous oxide creamers for whipped cream and bicycle tire pumper made for co2 cans and you must get a cone a/f or something else.. and get it tapped with fittings and mount the switch on your handle bars and hook up racing fueline to the fitting and to the hose on the pump

i would reccomend getting a dremel and doing a boost port instead
