Exclamation Newbee HELP

Hello!
I'm not very good at engines and that stuff.
I would like a few answers about the choke, if i should use it when starting up, and what exactly it does. In the manual it says you should not use it, but at the midsouthminimoto.com techbasics 101 they say it's easier to start up the engine whith the choke open.
What effect does the choke have on the bike?
I also wonder "turning on the choke" is the same is "opening the choke".

Well, i think that was all, thanks for your help.

If you turn the choke on it will be easyier to start the engine from cold. It basiclly just cuts off the air flow.

turning on the choke would be the same as closing the choke which closes air off.
turning off the choke is the sams as opening the choke which lets air in...if that makes sense.
chokes are usually used on cold engines when temps are cool or when the carb/gas tank has been ran dry and it needs and extra bit of suction to start the fuel flowing through it again.
