would be good to know who has what and what was your impression between the SDG, Thumpstar and Xtreme bike.

I have this 107cc pit bike. Its pretty cool but not even close to the Thumpstar and the price is like night and day. Its a fun litter bike to hang out and bang wheelies.

ive had thumpstars and all the replica pitbikes etc and can tell you the thumpstar is a very very nice bike and so is my scorpion. The db-7 i have is also a farily decent bike for the price but nowhere near the power of the scorpion and thump. My friend has a shop 20 minutes from me selling the sdg and extreme bikes and even he wants to start selling my thumps.

Realy Badazz?
What is the comparisson between the thumpstar, SDG, and Xtreme bikes?
Since you have the ability to get your hands on all 3, what are the pros and cons of each if comparing 120's together?

I'm suppose to get my thumpstar's today. Mine will be 120cc's and soon will be 125cc's.

The Thumpstar 120cc is rated at 7.8HP from the docs I can see, but I was told from people riding a C1 that the thumpstar is way more then 7.8HP....

I plan on putting 1 of my demos on a Dyno and get facts for myself. Just wondering if anyone ever tryed them on Dyno's?

Kmotomini,

Nice bike, what is the new one costing you ?

Have you ever tried a thumpstar? If so, must be a big difference in power right?

I was told by a few people that had those, 2 of the 3 guys bent the whole frame the first day out doing wheelies. One of them got a Thumpstar afterwards (drove down to the US and picked it up from a friend) and he said that the frames on the Thumpstar are far Beefier then the other Chineese dirt bikes.

the xr50 and sikk mx 50 are tried tested and true they can handle 20 min motos week in and week out in true MX conditions. I've seen the thumpstar in race conditions and not have luck. Which is too bad with the High Price.

Realy?

but performance wise the Thump is supperior to the MX50 though...

Wonder which one of the thumpstars it was as the 120cc pit pro is better then the 107's where ridgitety wise.

I have heard that the swing arm benign bent, but I found out the first gen 1 dirt bike was made sorry so it was bent easy. Now the Chinese bike are been build a litter better then the first one so I haven’t see any bent frame yet . By far the Thump star is build allot better then the Chinese but for me I don’t like to pay for the price if you know what I mean . The New dirt bike was giving me for samples and to test out to see if there anything I can mess it up somehow someway. I really like the swing arm and the front on the new bike. Like i say i will let you guys know if i can mess it up or not.

it was the 120 but in my 15 years of racing mx Every manufacture will have problems its a rough and tough sport and is hard on evry part, acc and body part. Just the price for a thump in Canada is outrageous for a "fun or pit bike"

Talking

Hi everyone! I just bought my firt "Pit Bike" the other day and I think that it is great fun! I wanted to buy a cheap one before I invested $$$ in one. I am used to riding Motocross bikes, so I am pretty clued up about what is needed to perform well on the track. This was however my first 4 stroke and it will take a little getting used to (especially the engine braking!!!)

I paid $411 (£225 GBP) which is bit more than cost. When I first bought it, I thought, "dang, what a pile of poo!". But after I had stripped it and seen all of the componants, it isn't half bad - especially for what I paid! All of the bolts are 8.8 grade and not one has stripped on me. The engine is smooth and a good 14-16HP and comes out of corners really well, about equal in power to a kx80, but maybe a touch less.

The suspension is total $hite! But it is all part of the fun. Like I said, if I get into it, I will buy a Thumpstar. I have no idea how anyone can use those tall handlbars, they feel so high that if you sit in the attack position, it puts the weight dynamics out the window and makes the bike unstable, especialy coming into corners. I have ditched the BMX style bars in favour of some Renthal Junior "Low-Rise" bars. I will also stick a decent set of MX tyres on it and a Thumpstar gear changer as I snapped the end off my one on the first outing

But all told, for the money, it is great fun, and I look forward to more outings of hardcore MX fun

Oh, here is the bike that I bought by the way:

the CofG (center of gravity) on these chinese bikes are way out! they are only farm bikes i agree the shockys are crap mainly the rear
demtoofast, you got the half decent model with a clutch u lucky fella we bought our bikes about 4 and 2 months ago shortly after we seen the importers bringing in the same bikes with a clutch argggg oh well live and learn how does the bike with a clutch handel on response? out bikes seem to go ok in first but from there on the clutch kicks in every other gear it feels eeeek...

The clutch feels cool. It did need adjusting to begin with. I actually had to install an MX cable adjuster at the lever as the Chinese didn't use one. 1st gear is useless!!! You can't even let the clutch lever out with any revs or the bike will flip, still, 2nd and 3rd rock! 4th is too far away from 3rd in terms of raitio and is too cruzy for me, but 2nd gear out of the hole is awesome as there is hugh amounts of torque. I am keen to ride the bike when I have the new tyres on as the rear is currently a 2.50" which is too narrow for my liking.

Thanks mate. Yeah, it is a CRF knock off. I went for one with a drum back brake coz I have to build my bike every time that I ride it, and I can't be bothered 2 bleed both front and rear brakes every time that I ride it. I will have some nice MX tyres on it soon. A 2.50" on the front and a 2,75" on the back. I will have to chop the handlebars down by a couple of inches each side too, when I get a chance, but when it is done, I will post some pictures.

As far as graphics go, it looks a bit plain right now. So I will have some made. Coz it is green, I am thinking of going for "KXF". But who knows.

What carb does a CRF 107 have??? I may do an upgrade at some point and it would be good to know what I should idealy get.

James
