hey glad to try and help

are you absolutely positive on the measurements on the bolt holes?? that is so tiny , that would make the axle only about 3/4" maybe??......... if that is the numbers then the only optin I can see is an adapter of some sort.... wish I had that thing in front of me, I know I could whip up something...

Do you have yahoo mess??

thats pretty small, I don't know if the axle will hold up to a 110cc.....You may have to convert it to a gokart axle, with a gokart axle you will have the option of various brake rotors, sprockets and bigger wheels..... Other than that I only see making an adapter to bolt or weld to your hub so you can use like an X6 or X18 sprocket...

I dont have msn downloaded on this puter, just yahoo

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

Hi again!

I got some new pictures and a story to go with them!!

But first the pictures.
I got the engine mounted and i got it started! But you are going to here the whole story after the pictures.

http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/2937/newatv11ja0.jpg

Okay, here is the insane story!

Right, i was in my garage, building the ATV. I finally got the frame cut, so i could mount the carb! So i just taped the tank to the handlebars, so i could try to start the engine. The gascable was acting a bit stupid, but i don't really think to much about it... I tried to start it, and after about 20 tries, it finally did! But i got more then what i thought... When it started it was SO NOISY!!!! Because as you can see on the pictures it has an open exhaust, because i'm not done with it... And the throttle was stuck open! And the engine is not connected to anything, so it could just rev so much... I really tought it was going to explode! Plus i didn't mount a cut off switch... So i really paniced, and just ripped of the gas line, spewing gassoline everywhere... But i didn't really notice that, because it still didn't shut off! So i ran outside, thinking it would turn off in just a while... But after about 10 seconds it was still running... So i went back in, and ripped the ignition cable off! Then it stopped But! I now had a MUCH bigger problem... Remember the gasoline everywhere, it was now on fire!!!! and so was the tank, still containing some gasoline! So i threw the tank away, fearing it would explode or something. The i pushed my welder away a bit, because there was fire under it too! Then i pushed the atv away from the "main fire" but the ATV was on fire too... So i didn't know what to do... But then i remembered the water hose in the yard, so i ran out and grabbed it. Then i went back in the garage, wich was no full of black smoke and fire! I sprayed the water on the fire and i got the fire putted out! Everything seems to be okay, the ATV, my welder and me. The welder did get sprayed with water, wich is not so good, but i don't think it's broken... But the whole thing was SO SCARY! it was like something out of a movie... I was thinking about calling the fire department... But i did it myself

''That sounds like a pretty crazy situation, sure glad to hear everything is ok.... too bad you didnt have the camcorder at that moment, LOL...

I was looking at the pics of the quad, that engine looks like it is way over compared to the sprocket hub on the axle unless thats just the angle I am looking at it....

I sure wish you were near here, I could definately come up with some things to help you out like building a custom intake to direct the carb out the side.... an adapter for the sprocket, ect..... I am a fabricating nut, wish I had the time and funds, I'd love to open a custom shop....

I'll do what I can on this side of the pond to steer you in the right direction, just let me know and I'll do my best to help out...

basically what you would need would be a piece of steel about 1/4" thick, cut out a big washer, approx 3.5" in diameter with the center hole the same size(o.d) of the axle with the bolt pattern of the sprocket you want to use drilled into it, you would slip the adapter over the axle up tight against the hub and weld it in place OR drill that adapter to fit the bolt pattern on your hub and bolt it on and use a sprocket like you have with a big hole in the middle that would fit over the the bolts holding the adapter to the hub and bolt that to the adapter..

Other than that the only other suggestion is reworking the whole rearend and putting a gokart axle or another axle assembly from a riding lawnmower or a small 4 stroke atv.

Yeah... I think i'm going to make an adapter like that but it's going to be really hard to make sure that everything is centered and straight and all that...

yeah you'll have to measure and measure.... Whayt I would do is get the holes all drilled as close as possible, bolt the adapter to the hub and spin the axle with a pointer made from a coat hanger or a piece of steel rod so it just barely is not touching the outter edge of the adapter, spin the axle and see if it is centered, if not pull ot back off and open the bolt holes up a size or two, bolt it back on but just snug and spin it again, if it oscolates tap it until it centers and weld it to the hub.... Now bolt the sprocket to the hub and spin it, if it oscolates open the bolt holes up and bolt it back on, spin it again, if it oscolates tap it until it runs true and then weld the bolt heads to the adapter....
