47cc converted to 110cc

Hi everybody. I'm working on converting a 47cc mini ATV to have a 110cc 4 stroke engine from a china dirtbike.
I have extended the frame, because it wouldn't fit if i didn't. But there is still a lot of work to go. I will keep updating this thread until i'm finally done.
The new engine is a 110cc 4 stroke 4 speed, from some china dirtbike thing.

This is how it used to look.

Here is it stripped from everything.

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

nice work! you need to make a step by step how to on this because im pretty sure alot of people with these pocketquads will want to do the swap since they have major clutch issues.

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

Hi again.

Today i cut 10 cm of the frame again, because i started out extending it by 25 cm, wich is too much. Extended 15 cm, the engine will fit PERFECT! It looks like it was made to be there. I also cut of the old engine mount, and made a new one There is still a LONG way to go, and a lot ot problems ahead

1: I need to get the exhaust to fit, but i don't have it yet.
2: I need a new sprocket for the rear.
3: Need a new chain.
4: Need to mount the engine so the chain will fit.
5: Need to find out where the gastank can be mounted.
6: Probably A LOT more!

There will be some more pictures soon.

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

hey esser! i found this at pbu and thought it might help you figure out how things go even though your set up is one of a kind. another thing you might wanna call pbu and tell them to send you 360 pics of that 4 stroke mini quad cuz you wanna buy one just to see how they did it then compare yours. heres the link

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

This is sounding pretty cool.

Any plans as far as making some sort of body for it or painting the frame?

Can you get some pics of your progress. this thing is going to be a pretty sick bike.

Are you going for a lot of low end power or do you want top speed? with the tiny tires on that thing gearing is going to be hard to determine. id say go with the highest gearing you can... id do a 17:28.

anyway cant wait to see more...

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

Thank you guys But i have a pretty big issue... I don't know where the hell to mount the fuel tank. The carburator sticks up, where the gas tank use to be, and the gastank has to be mounted higher then the carburator. Maybe on the handlebars? But that would just look so stupid!
I also don't know where to find a rear sprocket for the back that fits... The old one is too small for the new chain, wich is a bigger one. Maybe someone can help with that?

As far as the body go, i think i'm going to cut it, to get some of it to fit

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

Putting the fuel tank on the handlebars wouldn't look to bad. it would look like a water cooled bike but with gas in where the water is supposed to be.

It will look pretty stupid The fuel tank is pretty big compared to that little bike, and it has a weird shape... But i may have to do it.

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

hey look at that link i showed you they have the gas line routed against gravity and im sure it works especially once you start the engine. and you might wanna look for a new manifold since theres quite a few to choose from on ebay or turn it around if possible to make the carb point in a different direction.

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

Looks nice. Have you thought about putting an even bigger engine on. like a 160 or 150.

Re: 47cc converted to 110cc

get the carb mount that lets you redirect the carb 45degrees so it sticks out the side of the bike instead of facing rearward....if you have a problem in finding it just get the intake mount instead that lets you use any of the intakes..i think they call it a 12 position intake mount....

i think the 150-160 will tear that frame to shreads! the 110cc will be way more then enough the 160 with a high compression piston in that quad would prolly do a back flip at launch!
