| first mini, upgrade time.... hey everyone,
first off, i'd like to say hello as i am new to the forum. i've read a lot about minis and upgrades before purchasing one, and have done a few upgrades that have been mentioned. so heres what i have done.
#1. added washers between the spindles and mounts to reduce play, helped with the "death wobble" a little.
#2. adjusted toe in toe out. helped trmendously on the wobble.
#3. adjusted shock. helped again with wobble.
#4. adjusted brakes. helped with wobble. one would drag causing thaqt side the pull, so i would correct and then it would begin to wobble.
#5. readjusted tire pressures to 18lbs of air. reduced it yet again.
#6.cleaned fuel lines with carb. choke cleaner, new filter and fesh gas after it began leaking yesterday.
i have made many of the basic upgrades and repairs that u guys have mentioned and a few u didnt, like the washers where the spindle pivot bolt goes through. i am now looking into the clutch and sprocket and chain upgrade. i have been told a banshee clutch and 78 tooth rear sprocket are the way to go with a #25 chain, is this true? ive heard that the banshee clutch is not tapered and the minis crank is, but some said different. whats the deal? will it fit? is it the best. also, the stock sprocket is very close to the shock mount crossbar as it is, so will a 78 tooth fit? i dont know how many teeth or how big the stock one is, but its close now, so i didnt know. and is the #25 chain the right chain? i would love to get some feedback, as i have found mixed info on here. any pics would be great as well. thanks in advance guys, and sorry for such a long first post. |
