NO GAS in the bowl

I have come across another problem with this god dam thing. I am not getting any fuel in the bowl. When i pull of the gas line where it connects to the carb i get gas flow, but I'm there's nothing flowing into the bowl not sure Y? I took apart everything and i put some gas in the bowl and put everything back together and it turned on for a bit then shut off. HELPPPP

Re: NO GAS in the bowl

This may sound like a stupid question, but did you turn the little white knob on the side of the carburetor so it is vertical instead of horizontal? That's your fuel shutoff valve, or petcock ..... Believe it or not, some people DON'T know about this.

Re: NO GAS in the bowl

Odd ............ Sounds like something in your petcock may be messed up. Sometimes the little rubber piece on the inside of the petcock disintegrates, and either clogs it up or causes leaks. (If that happens, you either need to do the petcock mod, or get another carb. i've done both, and have several spare carbs.) I would carefully take the carburetor apart, and clean everything again. This includes carefully taking the petcock apart, too. Take off the front plate of the petcock, and take a picture of how the pieces sit, just in case you forget later.

Re: NO GAS in the bowl

you should stick to making 1 thread it'll be a lot easier to help you solve your problems

sounds like you need to bite the bullet and take off that petcock switch clean it out really good fill it with jb weld then drill straight down the inlet and get an inline shut off valve.

it also sounds like your idle is too low if its dieing on you after being revved also are you reving it hard enough to clear the pipe of excess fuel? dont be afraid to be hard on these motors.

and last you should take the entire carb apart and give it a good cleaning every piece! especially the main jet and i find it a lot easier to tip my quad on its side to put the bowl back on it lets you alighn the rubber gasket good so it doesnt leak.
