What's the top speed on the atvs? I have seen tons of hop-ups for them.

Re: Pocket ATVs are on the way

I'd guess about 25-30 but I if I got one I would gear it lower maybe about 20mph that way it had more torque. Oh I talked to Mr. Badazz about the rolling frame but he said that it wouldn't be worth it because he dosn't want all the motors layn' aboud so he might sell one for $60 off with no motor but thats not even for sure.

well what i think is, these things are not made to have like a ton of power, there just made to have some fun just riding around on...i meen....if you want to, you can out some better engines in them nn stuff....but yeah , lol you would have to have a passion for what your doing, because they can cost a load of money!!

Re: Pocket ATVs are on the way

most sites say 30-40 mph. are the dirtbikes the fastest or the motorcycle style or the quad?

Re: Pocket ATVs are on the way

My quad is faster than most stock BB cags.
So far I have only added a ported carb w/filter.
In a day or so I'm adding a rocket key,BW 3 stage reeds, adjustable clutch and a PBU quad race pipe.
If you get on make sure it has the SY44 head on it as it has a smaller combustion chamber and a tighter squish than the ZH44.
You cannot run w/out a base gasket on the SY44 head cause the piston will hit but you can run a ZH44 head w/out one.

BTW....mine came with 7/68 gearing and I took a ZH44mm cag off the line and kept the lead until we shut it down.
It had Jetpro pipe, ported carb w/filter and 6/68 stock gearing.
Just think what it would do with a PBU pipe.
Speaking of the PBU pipe...I'm heading to their site now to order it.
Enjoy your quads...I know I am!!

Cafe,

Mine came with the same head, but 7/72 gearing (if you remember, we received them the same day from the same place). I guess they use what ever they have laying around.

Re: Pocket ATVs are on the way

BTW, have you talked to anyone at PBU about that pipe? I don't see on their site any real information about the quad pipe. There a pictures and such, but they don't state if it is a low end torque pipe or high reving HP pipe. It'd be nice to know what mods/porting/etc they suggest running with it.

Hmmm..I better count those teeth again.
If it doesn't have a 68 tooth it will.

I'm not sure.
I haven't bought a race pipe yet that disappointed me.
Give Scott a call.
He'll be happy to answer your questions.

Re: Pocket ATVs are on the way

Cafe,

How is the pipe? I saw it in your gallery quad pictures. Can you compare it to any others (low, mid or top end)?

Can you list all the mods on your quad please?

What's the scoop with the claim for your body damage?

Thanks,

LOL....getting the replacement fairing from gtech9 has been like pulling teeth out of an alligator.
They do not answer there phones or emails after they get your funds.
IMO...it's a crap shoot dealing with them.
I have actually bought 3 from them and I still don't get any love.
They say it should be here next week so we'll see.

Mods are:
PBU pipe,BW reeds,ported carb w/filter,boost bottle.
The SY44 is set-up nicely.
I tried to remove the base gasket but the piston hits the head.
The piston sits even with the exhaust floor and the squish is a perfect .5 with the gasket installed.
I'm going to widen the exhaust and add a boost port.

The SY44 engine has plenty of torque and the pipe hits at the beginning of mid range and pulls all the way through the top.
It's a sweet pipe.
I am running 4/68 jetting and it's still too lean.
I was running 4/66 before the pipe and the plug looked good.
Now I think I'll need a 72-75 main jet and adjust the needle accordingly.

BTW...THIS PIPE WAS NOT MADE FOR THE EBAY POCKET QUADS.
THE PBU QUADS ARE OBVIOUSLY A TAD LONGER.
IT IS NOT A DIRECT FIT.
IT TOOK ME 2 HOURS OF BENDING AND CUSSING TO GET IT TO FIT.
CONSIDER YOURSELVES WARNED.

Re: Pocket ATVs are on the way

saw something similar (maybe the same) at our local mini kart track over the weekend. It looks to be equipped with a lil Cag motor. Definately looks to be a lot of fun.

The rider was approx 5' 5" w/ a medium build (30's in age). It seemed to handle very well, tho' it didn't take much effort to get it up on two wheels ....if you're not expecting it.

IMO, it makes a good road or flat tracker (level/banked dirt surface) quad more so than a true off-road quad. Who knows how well it will hold up in a true off-road terrain [cry laughing].

West Coast Products have a good rep.
I didn't know they had Quads as I would have definitely purchased from the instead of gtech9.
Gtech9's feedback is so bad I don't why I even bothered.
They still have not replaced my damaged fairing.
Buyer beware.

Re: Pocket ATVs are on the way

I think it is gtech4 and not gtech9. I called their customer service to ask a question and the lady was very rude. They are the cheapet anywhere but will charge $10 to ship parts and do not warranty paint defects or scratched plastic.

I purchased yesterday two PQ for my children from West Coast as well. They cut $30 off each bike if you buy two and through E-Bay they are another $30+ cheaper a bike than their web site. That puts them less than $10 a bike higher than gtech4 in price. The only negative is they have limited color selection in stock. (red/blue/black)

They were very professional in answering questions and taking my order. They promised to ship by next Monday but I got tracking info via e-mail today and a professional invoice via e-mail the same day of purchase over the phone.

West Coast also has 100% positive feedback on E-Bay. They go out of there way it seems to clear issues.(a guy named Scott I believe)

I will report back after I spend some time with the bikes as well.

Cheers....
