no u want to keep it on cause u will get dirt in the engine if u take the whole thing off but if u want to take the silencer off its ok to do that but it makes it louder by brother broke mine of and its preety cool but i bought a new 1 cuase i hate the sound ur like riding the quad and u hear braaaaaaaaaaaa its weird but u can cut it off if u want to to make it louder it wont harm the quad!!!
