Re: save the clutch

yes you'll either need to change the front pinion or get a cag clutch housing with the smaller pinion gear which is the smarter route. i ordered just a pinion and it ended up not fitting the stock housing so i had to order the housing anyway.

also an update!! those rubber bushings i recommended ended up not working out they squished. so if you're gonna do this mod you'll need to order the prothane bushings and a custom tool will need to be made for reassembly of the tie rods since the bushings take the place where the tool is used.

Re: save the clutch

hi i have recently bought most of these mods you have suggested and a few more i have the nkg spark plug, ufo air filter, clutch, kore chain tensioner and other minor changes also my s4 already came with a 6 tooth pinion and 25h chain and so far the **** thing flies and has a decent low end. i gess what im wanting to know is will putting the 78 tooth rear sprocket really add that much low end torque? what i would like to tune it to do is some burn outs and maybe climb better hills i mean this thing already clears some impressive hills for how little it is but i would like maybe more? and the stand still burnout is desirable. also will getting more low end rob me of top end? also what does an advanced timing rocket key do???

Re: save the clutch

yep a 78 tooth is the highest i would go cuz of ground clearance but it definitly helps low end at the cost of high speeds but still goes good.

personally i find that using a 68 tooth rear is the best all around as long as you have the tensioner to take up extra chain slack so you can choose between a 5,6 and 7 tooth pinion to change up gearing. this makes things far easier then trying to remove the rear sprocket each time and the 68 tooth allows good ground clearance. a 5/68 combo is basicaly = 6/78 and so on.

as for the rocket key it just depends some times they help some times not.
