Re: GRC Moto Canadian Cup!

A little Calgary update!

Lee Kuhn Jr., sweeps the podium with 3 first place finishes and one second. The second place finish came behind his Tsunami team-mate Eden Oshell who won the 14-40 class. Eden also placed second to Lee Jr. in two of the other classes, plus won the 7-10 year old youth class.

During Sunday's GRC Cup, we decided to stay for the AMRA Nationals and the Third round of the CNMRA National Mini Roadracing Series(run by Michael Lenz), which was hosted by the AMRA at their National on Monday.

Lee and Eden swept the field again with Eden spanking the field on his NSR 50, winning the 7 to 10 youth class by a huge margin. Lee started by winning the AMRA open 50 and production 40 classes, then to top the week off and surprising everyone, Lee ran away from the rest of the field with Peter Lenz and Bohdi Edie (2 of the fastest kids on the planet right now) on his under powered and over weight for the class CBR, and won Formula Supersport. Watching Lee battle back and forth with Bohdi was pure art and one of the highlights of the entire week for everyone present.

What would have been an even better show, had Lee starting 18th in the qualifier for the under 21 spec class final were he raced against Metra kits, NSRs and motards on his 50 open DM(the only minimoto in the field) and in 6 laps, caught Bohdi Edie and Peter Lenz qualifying third on their back tires, setting up for an exciting final. Unfortunately Lee had the only mechanical issue of the week in the final, when his pinion twisted off and he was unable to finish. Bummer, because there was no doubt in anyones mind that he could have won the race. It was absolutely crazy!

There was also some awesome exposure for the sport when we had 3 pro superbike racers from the big track come over and race the minis. One of them even squeezed onto a GRC and ran in 50 open with Lee Jr. and I can tell you he has a whole new respect for the mini moto guys now!!!!!!

I can't thank Brandon and Jay enough for making us feel welcome and accepting us as one of the AMRA family.
We really hope some of the amazing western riders can make it down for our invitational.

Re: GRC Moto Canadian Cup!

That part sucked. That was one of the reasons for driving 3000 miles.
