I posted a before and after pic of my old cag. It was bought black and i made it into a red fila race rep. I kind of have a thing for the race reps. I did the same with me c1 but in addition I also painted the frame a two tone.

Let see some more before and afters guys!!!!!

i sanded the parts i needed to paint right to the plastic because the paint ripples if you paint over the original paint, it does a chemical reaction and ends up being really ugly. if you were to paint make shure to remove the original paint. i used black stipping to make the transitions look clean.

Re: Custom paint job pic thread

from my experience, you don't really need to sand directly to the plastic as long as you only spray thin coats of paint, it also depends on the type of paint that you use. I've been working on a k1 gixxer 1000 copy that is almost finished, I'll be sure to post the pics when I'm done.

btw, djsick, where did you get those suzuki stickers? I need some to finish up my bike.

Re: Custom paint job pic thread

Ya, I think there is a place near my cottage that makes stickers, maybe I'll get some made. Anyway my gsxr 1000 copy is nearly done, still needs a few touch ups, wheel and brake paint, as well as the stickers. Here are the pics, the first is the actual 2001 suzuki gsxr 1000, and the rest are my cag, hope you like it.

Re: Custom paint job pic thread

here is the x1 I did for my son, its been sold now but still have a few pics...

The rear tail section was customized by removing the bump on top, frenching in custom made bullet tail lights and turn signals..the paint is color changing purple, magenta, red followed with several coats of 2 part urethane clear, wetsanded and buffed...
