How to get flat colors?

i want to paint my bike completely flat black. i mean, if you shined a flashlight on it, the light and the flashlight would get sucked up it would be so flat. any ideas on how to do this. my main concern is still getting some sort of clearcoat or protective coating over the black paint.

Thanks

this is pretty much what i want, except im going to lose as much shiny stuff as i can

Re: How to get flat colors?

There is a way...................but it involves some work and time........and of course;-money

One way:Like the picture:-Is to use the oldschool classic flat hotrodders paint from PPG.....for Ratrods; with a reducer thats matched with the current days air temp w/low humidity for proper flashing in a quality spraybooth.

The other is Flat Black Rustoleum Industrial finish that brushes on but you thin it with acetone and spray it with HVLP spraygun.

You have to take the panels and put them in a wash basin and wetsand the cast marks off the plastics and use a high build water based primer and let it cure....Block and wetsand plastics smooth without sanding through primer or making scratch marks........epoxy on hanging tabs to backs of plastics and hang them in a dust free area with good ventilation and use Flat black Rustoleum Industrial finish that you brush on but you put it in an automotive type sprayer and mix it with acetone to thin and spray like enamel................Let it dry totally flat and give it a half a day between coats........It will be flat.....really flat if you wetsand the skin off with superfine grit........

My brother took his X-2 plastics to a bodyshop and they charged him $50.00 to prep and spray them with his paint he bought................Take them to MAACO theyll paint them for same price too.
