Cool STREETFIGHTER. Has it been done? It will now!!

Well, after like 7 of my buddies allll bought the same bike as me, I have to be different. So i will build mine into a streetfighter!! The bike is a a/c 49cc F2. I believe it has the big bore head (44mm). I have a few parts ordered for performance and will add more asap.

I plan to add handlebar risers and use a set of motocross style bars, shortened to be of appropriate size.

Then I will add a kickass light up front, done proper, not like what i have seen here already, along with a 12v battery.

The front fairing and lowers will be removed and tossed, except for the very bottom one. I will chop, cut and remount a la 1/4 fairing style.

Will probably powder coat frame and new custom paint. Rims will probably be repainted or completly polished to mimic chrome.

I will machine a new set of triple clamps, upper and lower, out of 1/2 inch billet alu.

Was also thinking about making my own forks, thicker and beefier, and modded to accept dual disc brakes, hydraulic of course, with stainless braided lines. Might have to buy, or make thicker discs to avoid warpage. Maybe some cool wave rotors!?!

I will also add extra support to the frame for strength and reweld all the crappy chinese welds just to be sure.

Was also thinking about remounting the foot pegs a lil further back, not to the rear axle like others but weld a mount 3 - 4 inches back, enough to let my knees clear the bars. Not sure tho', still wanna knee drag!!

Thats my ideas so far, what do you guys think??

Any suggestions??

Will post pics soon!!

Re: STREETFIGHTER. Has it been done? It will now!!

Well I started, but figured i would get the engine and stuff sorted first. I posted a thread, heres a link, kinda long tho'.

pocketbikes/29344-cheap-mods-forwarned-lengthy.html" target="_blank">http://www.pocketbikeplanet.com/82-a...d-lengthy.html

After a lil research, thought it would be easier to buy a new front end with the dual discs. Checked them out, and the forks are thicker along with the triple clamps. Whew! save me some time and money! It comes with the calipers and every thing!

Got the handlebars done, and the light installed. Had a spot for the battery but was really close to the exhaust pipe and rear wheel. Hard to explain where i put it so i'll post a clear pic with a description later.

Will mod the frame next weekend at my buddies shop and prolly paint too!!. And will also post pics as soon as my camera gets returned from my GF!! Women...sheesh!!!

Any ideas any1 on paint color/scheme?!?!?!

I've always been partial to a mix of flat black and shiny black. Go to svrider.com and click on the message board. You will see links for some of the past SV 650's of the month. Awesome bikes on that site!

Ya me too, but with sooo many colors available today, it seems the flat black is a temp thing to do until you figure out what you wanna do. Still, flat black is pretty damn cool, but like anything, if done right!!

Re: STREETFIGHTER. Has it been done? It will now!!

I am using a round driving light. It looks like a black ball, about 2 1/2 inch diameter, with a clear lens on the front. I changed the bulb to a high intensity H3 bulb from PIAA. Bulb alone is like 70 bucks , but is brighter than any car headlight on the road. (Except for those XENON units from Beamers) All I can do is laugh when i ride with it on, lol, so much light from this lil pocket bike!! lmao......IT TOTALLY ROCKS!!!

Re: STREETFIGHTER. Has it been done? It will now!!

Ya i sure did! I have a general idea but just need to think of a clean way to mount. Thanks fo noticing the "clean" factor, i strive to keep all my projects clean. Next weekend i will be tearing it all down again and taking the frame to my friends shop. He has allll the welding equipment you can need!! So its chop, cut and rebuild time!

During the teardown, I will take more detailed photos of the work already done under the fairing, I didnt have a camera before.

Keep the ideas coming guys, if its cool and possible, I will sure give it some serious thought, especially if it seems impossible!!

Still need a paint theme/color tho'.....

Looks good, looks better if you paint your frame to candy red, and glossed it. It will look perfect. Black and red, looks like the beast!

Re: STREETFIGHTER. Has it been done? It will now!!

What kind of exhaust is that coming around the side?? I like it. Is it for that bike??

That motor is lookin pretty sweet!! I have actually found a brand new blata rep engine with everything except the exhaust for lik 130 bucks!! Thinks me gonna grab dat 1!! Do you think it will fit into that frame?

Rephrase: Do you think it will fit without too much cutting and welding??

Heres a few new shots of mine, I dropped the front end like 1.5 inches, took the front fender of and modified it to fit more snug to the tire, and i also jacked my rear end up too!! Not as extreme as yours. I used some 1/2 cork pads i had lying around, well the missus had 'em for hot pots, oh well, to shim the seat up and down to where i like it. Right now its like 2 inches higher that stock. Trust me, you dont want to go higher, with the front dropped and the back raised, your body wants to slide forward so your b allz and tank become quite familiar with each other. Thats why I went 2 inches, I had it at 4 and it looked sick, but hurt to sit on it, nevermind ride it!!

Oh well, with it temperarely mounted to where I like it, I will cut, bend add/subtract and reweld to make it permenant this weekend!! Keep an eye out for new pics!!

In the mean time.........................................

Edit: Damn I hate those stickers, they're soo hard to get off, and look crappy, no matter how you place them! lol

Re: STREETFIGHTER. Has it been done? It will now!!

I have been checking ebay, thats where i found it. In the ad they had a #, i realized the area code is like 40 mins from me and they offer pickup. It is a water cooled and it comes with everything except the exhaust.

I'm starting to think about how far i actually wann go with this bike, its nice and all, goes pretty damn fast to! But I really despise the chassis. Its a great entry level bike but i feel i have outgrown it already lol

Forks are too small (thin) for my liking. Same for the triple clamps.
I would love to have an aluminum frame. Cant stop polishing, should see my streetbike, woooo....
Bolt on swingarm and subframe is also a bonus!!

To hell with it, Im gonna finish this bike to the point to where i visioned it and try to sell so I can upgrade. I figure with all the money i spend on changing this or that, I could buy a REAL bike! Remember, this is my first PB and I only had it like 2 weeks or so, came a long way in that time tho'.

Re: STREETFIGHTER. Has it been done? It will now!!

yea u can spend t much but its like that with anything ive had road bikes and and to do the same the sort ov thing u need alot more space/money in my opinion,,,, if you could build a fullsize racetuned bike and i mean tryes, suspension, full engine bigbore, pipe etc etc for less than $200 then fair play spose its just how far you wana go
