| Re: What paint to use for the x18 ok here we go, lol. its going to be long. first off you need to use automotive duplicolor paint and clear in a rattle can.
.- wetsand the body with about 1500 grit sand paper. then clean with water and dry it.
.- repeat step 1 again.
.- start with a 2 coats of primer.
.- wet sand and clean the primer.
.- repeat step 4 again.
.- start with a thin coat of paint.
.- repeat step 6 but a little bit heavier coat.
.- repeat step 7 but enough to cover all the light spots left over.
.- let dry for a day in clean area.
.- wet sand the paint 1 time and clean it.
.- apply about 3 coats of clear letting dry in between coats. wet sand the 3rd coat, clean and let dry.
.- apply last coat of clear.
if you follow those rules you will be blinding the people on the road. jhust make sure you do this in a very clean area. and when you do the wet sanding, i am pretty sure you need like 1400 or 1500 grit paper. need something super fine, almost feel like loose leaf paper. |
